My favorite Pat Dye quote

I give it to you here because it's too big to put in the sig quote area. It typifies his attitude about rebuilding the Auburn program in addition to reflecting his respect for Coach Bryant (this quote was from right before the 1981 Iron Bowl which bama won 28-17):
Old school southern football. Its still good today, but it ain't like it used to be.

The media is generally too far up a coach's arse to have really colorful coaches like there used to be. Now, bland business like is the order of the day.

And thank you for being sane. I try to not only refer to my favorite coach but also make a post that is tangentially respectful to your historical Hall of Fame coach, and your brethren above just can' get past their aubsession to make a legitimate response.

Well, he had four win ntional titles:
Paul Dietzel at LSU (Bryants offensive coordinator at Kentucky)
Danny Ford (played for Bryant at Bama)
Howard Schnellenberger (Played for Bryant at Kentucky, coached for him as Bama's offensve coordinator)
Gene Stallings (played for Bama at A&M, coached for Bryant at Bama as Defensive coordinator).
Pat Dye, no national title but 4 conference titles.
Now, as a side note, in the early 60's Bama had Bear Bryant as a head coach, Howard Schnellenberger s offensive coordintor, and Gene Stallings As Defensive Coordinator. Thats just NOT fair.

The quote I posted is a great quote that not only reflects old-time southern football but also (as I noted) reflects one of our great coaches great respect for your greatest coach.
But thank you (and the two below you) for again showing that you are a douche.
