Did Cam Newton ever specifically deny taking money or knowing about Dad?

Ax this thread if you want mods. At least it is not about trees.

To my recollection the only public statement Newton has ever made about the subject is "I didn't do anything wrong." Has he ever actually said "I did not know my father requested money"? It seems like now that the season and his eligibility is over, he could at least specifically give a yes or no answer.

He doesn't owe you a yes or no answer.

If AU is given serious sanctions because of him he is going to owe a lot of people a straight up answer.

Just because he doesn't say something publicly doesn't mean he didn't say it to the NCAA

As long as he waits 5 years to do so.

Oh I know. I'm sure he told the NCAA whatever AU's attorneys told him to say. It would just be nice now that he is a public figure making endorsement deals and all to hear him give a real answer.

Pretty sure he'll be asked about it at the combine. And his "no comment" won't cut it either. Same as the Texans and Reggie Bush.

Smart move by Reggie. Spared him from having to play for the Texans.

I mean, after all the herp-derp PR blunders the AD has made since November 4th, seems like everyone needs to just shut up and let it play out, whether we paid him or not.

Newton said he plans to fully participate in the NFL Combine that begins later this week, saying he wants "to be transparent" through the whole draft process, according to an AP story.

LINK

This is his chance to be "transparent" and give a yes or no answer.
