Bama & AU fans - can we agree on this...

the moron who poisoned the tree, the idiots who damaged Saban's lake property, the vandals who painted the Iron Bowl score on the grass and the Walk of Champions, etc do NOT reprrsent the majority of either fanbase. Most AU fans and Bama fans are great people who, while wanting to beat their rival in any & everything, respect the other on at least some level.
Sure each fanbase has its share of idiots on the fringe, but most people who support either team (like those who support LSU, UGA, Ark, etc) are decent people.
Just dont want all in either fanbase to be improperly lumped in with this "idiot bammer" or the "stupid barners" who painted grass, etc....just my two cents.

Fine by me. I don't blame bama fans at all on this one.

you are an idiot if you think planting grass in the shape of a score is the same thing as destroying the trees at toomers corner...
i would make an analogy, but bama doesn't have a landmark like toomers corner

This thing is not over yet. My Auburn friends are already talking about a serious retaliation. Someone has to stop this shite.

Can someone give me a link to this? I guess I missed this.

That's not the point of this thread. The point is that you can't lump an entire fanbase with hundreds and hundreds of thousands of fans into the same category as those folks based on those actions.

HTTC, rise above, man. Seriously. If you think all 'Bama fans are like that, YOU are the idiot.

Saban talked about it in his "Hey Coach" show following the South Carolina game. Said his barn was spray painted, trees rolled, lawn furniture was thrown into the lake, etc...

I honestly felt like the Iron Bowl score on the grass, and the Cam jersey on the Bear statue were just harmless pranks. I found them somewhat funny, but one of my close AU friends was disgusted.
This jackass has taken things to a whole new level though. They need to make a good example out of him, before anybody else gets any ideas.

No link, but I know for a fact this happened. Lake house was vandalized, boathouse painted orange and blue, and a lot of deck furniture tossed into the lake.

I personally saw the entire Bama fan base gathered around Toomer's corner about a month ago. I didn't think much about it at the time.

First of all, the rye grass score thing was funny, as was the Cam Newton Jersey on the statue. Neither one of those things IMO hurt anything and were clever pranks, not vandalism.
Things like painting a statue etc, that actually causes damage to something is taking it too far. And poisoning those trees is plainly criminal.
That was like someone playing a harmless joke on a friend or a co worker and they retaliate by cutting the brake lines on your car.

Who are you trying to convince? I think 99.5% of the Alabama fanbase agrees with you. Deliberately taking out a 100+ year old irreplacable landmark is far worse than simple vandalism or the other named incidents.
