if he was soooo committed, then why even speak to michigan??
you know what? michigan is his alma matar and he loves michigan. it has been a dream of his to be the michigan head coach and he owed to them, but most importantly to himself to speak to them and to seriously consider taking the job. if you don't understand that you are either a student yet to work for a living or too young to understand. by you insuating that he is disingenuous in his feelings for LSU reveals your ignorance of the situation and of les miles as a professional and a person. i could have said worse about you being a longhorn fan believe me.

I think it was just posturing more than serious consideration. He ended up getting what he wanted out of LSU. Michigan went to him 2 different times asking him to come back and help the program and he rejected them. I could understand turning down your dream job once but not twice if you truly felt that way.

Blah, blah, blah on the "it was his alma mater, he was being nice to them" crap.
He knows LSU won't go Boston College on him and fire him just for interviewing with someone else.
He would have entertained any serious offers, regardless of alumni status. He is smart to do that. But for the real reason:
Let me give you a hint: $$$
