How does winning the national championship change your perception?

This is a question for Florida/LSU/Bama fans. While I think it more pertains to Florida/LSU since they have won 2 BCS NC's.
Do you feel that your perception of what makes a successful season changed after winning the NC? The crystal ball had always been the holy grail for us Auburn fan's. Now that we have reached the pinnacle will our expectations for a successful season be changed? Auburn is a program that takes a NC run every decade or so, and I don't see that changing with this win. LSU, were you OK with your final placing this year? I know florida sure as hell isn't happy. Bama, was this season enjoyable for you?

I can't complain about 11-2 and a final ranking of #8.
Obviously, the just making a bowl or getting in the final 25 ship has sailed but a final 10 finish is nothing to blow off.

They have one. BCS started in 1998.
Surely you aren't one of those Tide fans trying to claim LSU's 2003 title since Saban coached them ? You wouldn't be the only one.

No, the BCS started in 1998. Now, we do have 2 crystal balls though. That's been awarded since 1986

You really have to be delusional to expect titles every year. Just look at the frequency at which it occurs. So yeah those 10-12 even 9 win seasons are enjoyable.

It changes everything in my opinion...bad and good. It completely changes your expectations.
In my opinion, the change is good in that people are more willing to invest in the program as expectations have been fulfilled and you know what you are capable of, but at the same time, the actual game experience (to me personally) is more stressful, because you know what it takes to get that championship.
My view of LSU football is completely different. In the 1990s, I viewed teams like Florida State as almost a completely different division that LSU could only dream of one day being a part of. I now look at a team like FSU as subpar to LSU. Really strange.

I'm not sure if this really answers your exact question, but I know I felt a lot more relaxed about this last season. I've always been one of those people who refuses to let a loss affect how I feel, but this year I didn't really have to make myself get over losing.
In 08 we were one quarter away from getting to the title game, and it all fell apart. That had left me starving for more, so when 09 got here, I was mentally as cranked up as I think I've ever been.
But this year, I was very relaxed and just ready to sit back and enjoy watching this team develop. I think it also helped that the season went about as I had expected. I didn't expect to lose 3 games, but I wasn't expecting a perfect season either. I knew our defense was very young and very talented, so I was looking for some exciting plays, and some dumb ones as well.
After the Michigan State game, I am already hungry for next season to start. I think we have a legit chance to get back in the big game next year.

The way in which they are obtained plays a bigger role in your team's perception.

Although I'm not in the target demo to answer the question in the OP, I will state for the record that my standards for AU football haven't changed.
Obviously, I want us to win. However, it's more important to me that we play to the best of our ability in every game, with no excuses. I expect us to play cleanly and by the rules at all times. I also want us to represent our University with class, honesty, integrity, and dignity, both on and off the field.
I can't say that this season fulfilled my lofty expectations. But the glass football thingy is nice.

Very interesting. I wonder if it is different for a team like ours who will more than likely not have another dream season for awhile. I know some Aub fans will have unrealistic expectations and will expect us to be a national powerhouse now that we reached this goal. I am realistic.
