His name is Ray Ratto and he writes for the San Francisco Chronicle.
He has Auburn at number 1 which is obvious but check out where he has other SEC schools.
LINK
11. Arkansas
12 LSU
16. ALABAMA? WTF? He has Michigan St. ranked 10th 6 spots above Bama.
South Carolina and Mississippi State are not ranked in this guy's top 25.
He has powerhouses such as EASTERN WASHINGTON, Hawaii, C-USA stalwarts Tulsa and Central Florida ranked above USCe and Mississippi State.

I still cant figure out how he has Michigan State at number 10 after they were Beat Down by Bama???
How can this guy rank a Hawaii team which got dominated in their own bowl over a 9-4 SEC team? makes no sense.

That's what's wrong - these so called voters don't know anything about football or they are pushing their agenda. Bama being behind Michigan St. is simply a joke - they beat the living crap out of them on a nuetral field. West coast and East coast bias. Finally the nation is seeing what the SEC can do - if it wasn't for east and west coast crappy writers/ voters, the SEC would have many many more national championships.

He should have his vote taken away.

+1
I still cant get over ranking Eastern Washington in the top 25 over a 9 win SEC team.

Yea this looks bad, but then you look at Kirk Herbstreit's poll (who does in fact know a lot about CFB) and is it really better? He has OSU at 9, behind LSU and Bama?
I'm not saying OSU beats LSU and Bama on a neutral field but from the games played OSU has to be ranked ahead based on record

No arguements from me on that. I think tOSU is a top 5 team IMO.

Some Bama fan on another site emailed him about it and he responded that his ballot was a clerical error and that Bama should be 10 and Michigan State 16, but I'm not sure about his LSU and Arkansas picks.

I think Herbstreit is pretty pissed at how Tressel handled the whole NCAA suspension mess and you can just tell he hates Pryor. He shouldn't let that cloud his judgement on his ballot, but I bet it did.

What about him leaving Mississippi State out of the top 25 all together???

Not sure about that one either. I think like you said the guy just hates the SEC.

From what I've heard Herby has been cut off from the program almost totally. He can dance his kids around on gameday but with the way he is ubercritical of the program and then some of the things he says on national tv...the people in charge are not happy.
Edit: MSU being left off the list is bad, but even after the year I'm not sure how good they are. Michg was awful, and they lost all the games they played to top 25 teams (I think I haven't done all the research unless Fla slipped back into some polls)

They might not be, but he has correctly criticized OSU for how they handled the suspensions. At the end of the day he is supposed to be an unbiased sports commentator and everyone knows that was handled poorly. Now that shouldn't affect his ballot, but the guy is human.

Easy killers......directly from the guy's Twitter:

A complete clerical screwup on my part re: Alabama, It was supposed to go in the spot where Michigan State ended up

And honestly, I think he has every right to be most critical of his Alma Mater. If it was the opposite, that would be an even bigger issue.

OSU handled the suspensions how the NCAA told them to handle the suspensions. The NCAA is "daddy" and schools usually listen to what they're told.
The team suspended the 5 guys from the Sugar originally, and then the NCAA reinstated them to make money.
The argument can be made that he should have sat them anyway, but if the suspensions aren't reduced, then the punishment no longer fits the crime in a way.
For what it's worth, I wanted them all kicked off the team and never allowed to play for my school again, especially pryor (selling his f-ing gold pants did it for me)
