Miles is a lot smarter than some people, including myself, would like to think he is. I think that's why he turned down the Michigan job.

Because we are an elite programs who wants to stay that way. Is it logical to think we will be playing in the NGC every year...no. Can we have it as a goal, absolutely. Also, we have always played this last minute, win decided by the final minute games. Not sure what you are talking about. We rarely "blow out" anyone. I remember several games between 05-07 (esp. 07) that were decided in the final moments of the game, if not over time. As much as I'd love to be "blowing out" teams....it wouldn't be as challenging to us as a time and not nearly as entertaining. Also, let's not make fun of the way he talks. Sure, he says some things that sounds silly. We re in Louisiana...I'm pretty sure I've heard a lot worse from people.

Because they sucked for eons, then they were good. They lost a good coach and replaced him with Simple Jack. They are loaded with talent but it is so mismanaged that they are frustrated to no end.

I call it the CORNDOG CONUNDRUM.

which makes him the winningest coach in school history percentage-wise. Nobody in your history has won like he has. He is simply the best you have ever had.

I live in Shreveport- and I know a 100 fans that want him fired.

and there is your problem. Reality has to set in at some point. LSU is probably the nation's best program the last 10 years- and that said, it cant be done every year. Especially in today's SEC.

The problem with LSU fans is that too many of them think Saban would have done it better if he had stayed- and that is just crap. You will see with Bammer if he stays the next few years. They wont do anything better than LSU did the last 10 years. But I doubt Saban stays at Bammer that long- his personality and quirks run its course after awhile.

What is Les gonna do as our coach? Time will tell. His mark is all over the program now. The first 3 years he was terrific. The he goes 14-10 the last 3 SEC seasons with 0 SEC West Titles. That is an unimpressive conference record. Where is the program going? Can Les first make it back to Atlanta and then possible win the SEC Title? If not a whole bunch of wins with no titles aren't nearly as meaningful.

Ignorant people ten to voice their opinion louder than others... I wouldn't generalize all of us in with the miles haters.

any true fan thinks they should win every game unless you KNOW your in a rebuilding year. With the kind of talent LSU has had I'd be kinda disappointed to. Not saying I'd want miles gone but IMO it was kind of similar to the Tubby years. He was a good coach and at times I thought he was great but his downfall was his loyalty to shitty coordinators.

This is the problem.

We were "in the hunt" this year. If you can't take one or two years of not beating the snot out of everybody you play then you are doomed to disappointment.
Reasonable people realize there are other teams in the nation that have just as much talent as LSU and can beat them on any given day.

ETA: In summary - to think you will be the best every year forever and ever is a child's dream.

Therein lies one problem, I think. I'm usually pretty brutal to LSU fans out of malace but I will take up for you here.

There is a very high percentage of TD posters who didn't see any of the 80's and likely half of the 90's. Younger fans have grown used to winning. Older fans remember a/the struggle.

Same is true re: Hog basketball fans. Most never saw a single minute of hoops played in Barnhill and perhaps even the 94 NC. All they know is the suck and consequently, call for change every single year.

In short(er), age plays a big part in what you read here.

LSU fans do not expect to win every game. But we certainly dont want to be mid class at best like Ole Miss.

The 2 biggest issues that have rightfully concerned Tiger fans for the past 2-3 years is terrible offense and clock management. Lets face it, for most of the games the last 2 years, our offense has been terribly painful to watch, even when we win.

Both issues can be corrected. I think clock management has been largely corrected and I think a new OC will correct #2.

What Tiger fans want to see is the talent that has been recruited used to its max. We have seen that on defense but I do not think anyone can truthfully say it has been on offense.

Correct this issue and I think you will see a lot greater support for Miles even if he does lose a couple of games.

I think it's too late. There are people among us level-headed types that want Miles gone even if all the "wrongs" were "righted".

Every school would be happy with offenses ranking in the 90's and 100's when your defense is a Top 10...
