His next season's rankings:

1. Oklahoma
2. Florida St. (Ponder leaving)
3. Alabama (replacing 3 main players on O)
4. Oregon
5. TEXAS A&M

The shocking thing about that is he didn't pick Ohio State in the top 5. It's as logical as the rest of his list.

Also, Oregon will be much improved next season but will NOT go undefeated. Oregon won't go undefeated for another ten years, five if the PAC 12 moves to 8 conference games instead of 9 conference games.

LSU should be on that list without a doubt. Arguably, they have the most talent of any SECw team coming back.

Where the hell is Notre Dame? You can't have a preseason top 25 without ND.

So? We have Trent, and a more talented QB coming in that has taken many snaps.

FSU and A+M that high is crazy. I dont think losing the 3 on O will be that hard to overcome. Sabans championships come from the D, and I think Bama will be pretty stout next year.

Smith is just throwing out sleepers like TAMU or FSU like this so people will talk about him and his picks.

He's obviously succeeding in this regard... everyone needs to calm down.

That's what most everyone was saying last year with McElroy and we see how that turned out

Last memory we have of that QB is him getting chewed out by his coach and overthrowing receivers in the Iron Bowl.

I know McCarron is more talented, but McElroy was a pretty damn good QB and a fine leader. I think he may be tougher to replace than Bama fans think.

I can see OU being #1, but the rest of the top 5 is meh.

I don't think he's dumb, I just think he's an attention whore.

um, okay? That generally happens in the game of football.

Actually he had two drops by our WRs, and one drop by your DB. I think he might have overthrown a WR on the last play which was hopeless by that point. Douchebag.

I agree with this whole post. The Ginger Ninja will be A LOT harder to replace than people think.

and how do you know he is more talented? I'm not saying he is or isn't. Based on the recent "snaps" he has taken at QB, how do you draw your conclusion that he's more talented? Don't tell me because he was rated higher out of high school.
