Bo Davis is interviewing for the DL job at Texas - the same job he holds at Alabama. I think he'll wind up taking it.

My thoughts as well. He's originally from Texas so he'll be closer to home should he take the job. Plus it wouldn't be that big of a loss I don't think.

DL kinda sucked this season anyways, not enough pressure on the QB.

Closer to home is the only thing I can think.
It's really a sideways move at best because UT seems to be a sinking ship right now.
He would never have been the DC at Bama so I'm guessing that may have had a little something to do with it.

As in he's from Magee, Mississippi, and played at LSU?

Become more familiar with the 3-4, and how pressure is created.

Here is a Tidesports article with additional info.

He is there and he has told friends he will accept if offered.
But it doesn't say whether he is interviewing for DL coach or S&C coach.

Not to throw the guy under the bus, but it's ok with me if he goes. I'm not blaming the line play on him, but from the past couple of years listening to him in practice videos, I've been underwhelmed.

Pretty much a done deal before he even interviewed.

Bo was a real asset in the weight room with players during his years in Baton Rouge, both as a player and coach. He's got a pretty good record considering how highly the 'Bama Dline performed in '08 and'09. A talent and experience drop-off bit them in 2010 but Davis still gets quite a slice of the credit in coaching circles for the overall improvement he helped bring to the 'Bama defense. Good luck to him.

Dareus had 3 and 1/2 sacks coming into the bowl game. I don't care what type of defense he plays in, that shite is just plain unacceptable.

He also spent much of the year on the training table. As did several key defensive players. 3-4 ends are not going to create as much pressure, without a significant presence at NG. That's why Alabama had only 27 sacks in 2010, in addition to not wanting to put a young secondary on an island. Far less blitzes were used, until the latter parts of the season.

That is the league average for 3-4 DEs. Making sacks isn't what he's suppose to do.
That's like complaining that GMAC didn't have enough rushing yards, disregarding the fact of what type of offense Bama runs...
