They really need to get rid of done clinics. They are horrible, all they do is get people more addicted to methadone rather than what they were originally addicted to.
Thread hijacked.

No, but I have had some friends in the past that had to go. I have never once seen that clinic work for anybody.

I never got the logic of they are hooked on drugs so give them a different drug. If they wanna get clean man up and do it the right way, cold fricking turkey.

Yeah I agree, they should throw a cold turkey at them.

Agreed, I have friend that got a lot worse once he entered methadone clinic nearly two years ago...just makes it cheaper.

The problem with cold turkey is that most of the methadone clinic users are addicted to some sort of opiate addiction. When you go cold turkey off of long time opiate addiction you have significant risk of body organ shutdown.
Also, there is a reason most people are addicted to a certain drug. You can't go cold turkey off of a long-time mental issue, it just doesn't go away in an instant. I do agree with everybody though that switching one addicting drug to another that is much cheaper does nothing productive.

BS. You may feel like you are going to die but it is not life threatening.

I call BS on your BS. If it's a short term addiction it's one thing but a long term opiate addiction is much different. Give a guy heroin every day for 4 years then make him go straight cold turkey without any suboxone and see what happens.
