Academic Excellence Nonresident Tuition Award
Award Amount: $8,000-$33,816 ($2,000-$8,454 per year toward out-of-state tuition)
Eligibility: Entering freshmen who are nonresidents of Mississippi and have a 26-27 ACT* (1170-1240 SAT**) and a 3.0 or higher GPA will receive a $2,000 per year award. Entering freshmen who are nonresidents of Mississippi and have a 28-29 ACT* (1250-1320 SAT**) or have National Merit/Achievement Semifinalist status and a 3.0 or higher GPA will receive a $4,000 per year award. Entering freshmen who are nonresidents of Mississippi and have a 30-31 ACT* (1330-1390 SAT**) and a 3.0 or higher GPA will receive a $6,000 per year award. Entering freshmen who are nonresidents of Mississippi and have a 32 or higher ACT* (1400 or higher SAT**) or have National Merit/Achievement Semifinalist or Finalist status and a 3.0 or higher GPA will receive a full nonresident award, currently valued at $8,454 per year.

. Academic Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship
Entering freshman must meet competitive criteria, including qualifying high school core GPA and official test scores. The criteria will be determined each year by the Undergraduate Scholarship Committee and will be based on the level of competition of the pool of applicants. an ACT composite score of 24 or a combined SAT score of 1090 or higher and a core high school GPA of “B” or higher. Test scores must be earned on a singular testing. This scholarship is applicable to first time entering freshmen only.
• Scholarship is 100 percent of out-of-state tuition and continues at the 100 percent level if the student maintains full time enrollment and maintains a 3.00 GPA.
• Grades are monitored at the end of each fall semester.

Ok, thanks for the info. He should be fine. He's a smart kid (currently has a 4.0)
