Come on now.. how smart are we.. this was one of the original quotes that was let out by the media.. Joe Schad as I recall.. and it was brought up by P. Finebaum yesterday during the Schaud interview..
Why has the media not jumped on this quote especially in light of the latest ruling.. Why not go back to the source of that statement and drill into it more..
Any thoughts as to why... I will give you a damn thought on it..especially after Paul Finebaum all but gave it away yesterday during his show..not to mention he brought this up a week or so ago..
It was a statement made by Cam Newton to Dan Mullen's wife.. not a recruiter..
So, now you are saying, who gives a shite who he said it to, if he said it then they have him nailed with knowledge of the hole thing.. Easy enough to prove, so why not just call up Mrs Mullen ask the question and then "Boom" as you all would say..
Not so fast.. I will tell you why it is not that easy.. it is because the 'quote' was completely taken out of context and put into an article to give more umf to the story..
that is why you are not hearing anything more about it and why you dont see it showing up on a big news source now.. Yea, Paul will mention it and Joe will comment but you dont see anyone pushing it..
Here was actual statement from Cam to Mrs. Mullen.. Please note that I only put quotes around the part that were put into the news story.. the rest of the statement was left out of the quote..
Sorry Mrs Mullen but I will not be coming to Miss State. My father has decided "the money was too much" for him and mom to travel to Starkville for every home game. Auburn is a lot closer so I will be going there. I am really sorry.!!!!
But no, that is not possible how it went down.. because all non-Auburn people have developed their own opinions based on data (or lack of good data) that was floating around.

No link, but you will see it soon enough.. if they decide to actually report on it.. otherwise, it will just die down and you will never hear about that quote again.. Just remember you heard it here first on TD.. the place where all news happens first.
