If Coach was so hated by LSU players and fans, why does he still occupy such a place of reverence among the people of Louisiana? His former players helped him recruit in Louisiana early in our programs development (Luther Davis)...also former players send their kids to play for the man...give me a break on him being such a jerk

Recruits don't seem to be burned out on him. I think Spurrier handed him his a** in a hat this year, but N Saban is one hell of a program-builder. With the classes he's put together, it's only a matter of time before they 'cycle up' to the top again.

Was 2009 that long ago? How is one 9-3 season a "cycle down"?

I think he recruited a bunch of talented dudes who just like his NFL reputation. Players like that won't always respond well.

I agree with you. Bama's team last season was a perfect blend of overachieving recruits in their 4th/5th years like Arenas, Mike Johnson along with younger 5* talent.

You just don't have that every year and the SEC is way too tough to slip just a notch.

I don't think it says as much as some posters want to believe about Saban's program that Bama went 9-3 this year.

Anyone, who doesn't think Bama won't be in the NC mix for the next few seasons isn't paying attention but to actually run the table any given year takes a pretty perfect storm.

You Bama retards better understand that Saban is the best coach Bama has ever had and that includes Bryant who cheated and manipulated his way to all the success he enjoyed. Saban plays by the rules and is not a drunk

I would agree with what some have said...this team lacked mental toughness and that can be attributed to several factors. I am not excited because we finished 9-3 but the bottom line is CNS is the best coach/recruiter in the country...we will be in the hunt consistently with him at the helm.

Left after 08.

We lost 9 defensive starters and 2 key OL which hurt our run game this year. Fluker is a great pass blocker but he can't run block. We had a decent year, especially considering the West was stacked this year. Not very often does the top 3 finish the regular season with 10+ wins and the 4th has a shot at a 10 win season.
