I'm thinking that each of the national champions from the U would curbstomp this Auburn team. 2001 would be the most fun to watch. I'd love to watch them play one of these misdirection/fast pace offensive teams from this season. And by most fun to watch I don't mean because it would be a good matchup or competitive.

Have you ever been to a game in Tuscaloosa or are you just saying that because you hate Alabama? They have some of the most knowledgeable fans in college football. It's one of my favorite away games, and I always have a blast every time I go.

Both. And I have good friends who are Bama alums and fans. But I've been treated decently in Tuscaloosa (a couple of times), and I've been treated like shite. And yes, Bama fans are knowledgable about football, but what of it. If there was an embodiment of the anti-Christ/Al-Qaeda/Nazis/Nambla/Viet-Cong in CFB, it would be Bama. I'm not going to lose sight of that because AU got caught with their hands in the cookie jar...again.

I only worry that Bama has too much class to do it.

Hope they have a designated hatchet-man. Kid would be an NCAA football hero for removing that frick.

I'm likely as big of a proponent of that team as you'll find. They had a couple close games against underrated teams that they overlooked. When focused, I'm not convinced any team in history would stay within 3 touchdowns of that squad if they played through the entire game without letting up once it was out of hand. Some teams like Bama last year would matchup better with them because of their style of play, but I still don't think it would be that close in the end. As far as the top teams this year, they would be thoroughly embarrassed in that matchup.

Even when Cecil Newton isn’t pimping his son’s services on craiglists, the Heisman hopeful oozes a mentality that simply isn’t championship material. After being caught trying to purchase a laptop one presumes he knew to be stolen, after tossing the laptop out of a window in an effort to evade being arrested, after allegations of academic fraud, and now after allegations that could render him ineligible and the season a bust for the Auburn Tigers, one might think that Cam Newton would be humble, gracious, and focused on the team and their goals of winning a national championship.

quote:

What we witnessed was Cam Newton on at least three different occasions become a one-man parade as he trounced and bounced all by his lonesome in front of the Auburn faithful. The message was clear: Have no fear, War Eagle, Cam Newton is here

glad someone else noticed this

I'd still take the 2001 team as far as biggest blowout. Funniest would be the team that Beat Texas who was like third in the nation by a score of 45-3, despite getting a 15 yard penalty almost every play.
