Nov 13th, Despite all of the above evidence, Auburn decides to play Cam Newton against Georgia.

Why'd they do this? I wonder what input the AD had over this decision?

ZERO now, thanks to you. I hope chizik defies reality and starts cam against bama. You guys aren't going to beat Bama this year. Their defense is big enough to sit back and wait, and their qb can get the ball to their playmakers... You're undefeated and you clinched the west, even though you wont go, but don't start taking credit for doing something you haven't done yet in beating Bama. Hell, your home schedule was pretty amazing as it is.

Tthis all came to light ten games in. If he is ruled ineligible they give up all of those wins anyway why not play him and hope for the best. If this was wek three or four you sit him just in case week ten if he cheated your screwed anyway.

My theory is that this was a calculated risk based on how much information the Auburn people thought the NCAA had at that point in time.

"If they have proof and we play him, we're fricked. If they don't have proof and we don't play him, we've fricked ourselves."

I think that, with Cam being the key to their season, they were stuck sort of between a rock and a hard place.
