Worst football road trip ever...Now the nightly IM thread.

It all started about 20 miles short of Slidell when we had a blowout of my drivers side rear. We then waited for an hour for roadside assistance to get there to change it for me because I had wrist surgery 2 weeks ago. After it was changed I had to fork out $60.
Early Saturday morning we got to Goodyear and forked out $200 for another tire and we were finally on our way to Tiger Stadium, where traffic was out of control. Took us. 3 hours to get from slidell to our parking spot beside Alex Box.
I will say that tailgating with HBT and MScoastGirl was the highlight of the trip. Their tailgate was THE tailgate. Fun and lots of good shrimp! Had a good time with those guys.....during the game, however, I had to stand sideways because of the fat arse people that sat beside us. The Bama fan beside me was a fricking dick and I have never had so many people on my row go to the restroom or concession stand so often.
After the game we were supposed to meet up and stay the night with my
wife's old best friend and her boyfriend, who lives in BR. that dude and his friends were total flakes. And the whole vibe was just shite. They were shady so we left, went back to slidell and spent another $90 bucks to stay the night at the same hotel.
So finally home and broke since we spent an extra, unexpected $350. Wouldn't have been such a bad experience had Bama just won but oh well. Thanks to HBT and MSCG for all the hospitality!

I am curious. In what sense do you mean shady?

At least you didn't have your dad drop his ticket on the way into the stadium. I was literally 5 feet from the enterance to Tiger Stadium when I hear him tell me to hold on. I turn around and see him looking down on the ground. I knew right away that the mother fricker lost his ticket. Well we look for like 6 seconds and I tell him you aren't going to find it, someone is found it and has probably already sold it. The next part is the shitiest part of the whole ordeal. I go to the ATM next to Mike's cage to get some more cash to buy him another ticket and of course its out of order. I then ask an LSU rep if they had any ATM's close by and she told me the closest one was in the Union. Keep in mind this is all arond 1:45. So I then had to make the 20 minute walk to the Union, get the cash, walk another 20 minutes back to the stadium, buy a ticket in the West Upper for $100 on the walk back and then have to give some other guy $20 bucks for holding a ticket until I got back. All was forgotten as soon as I got to my seats but it was a real shitty start to my only trip to Tiger Stadium this year.

Feel your pain......I flew to Houston and drove to New Orleans to see LSU vs. Ohio St for the N/C. Blew out an engine and had to spend extra days in New Orleans....then drive back to Houston and fly home to Los Angeles...... we won but the 3000 dollars extra spent made it hard to enjoy the game....... I drank like a fish
