Cecil Newton Needs to Disclose Source of Church Renovation Money

He needs to do this soon. The timeline is too suspect, and is one of the most damaging aspects of this story. If he can prove it came from a legit source it would go a long way in quashing some of the rumors. But he didn't do this. He goes and retains an attorney and puts out vague denials.

But that would reveal that the check was signed by Rev. Chette...

He does need to disclose it and quick.

It won't matter what Cecil says when the auditors start digging in. Funny thing about money is that it is realy easy to see impropriety, especially when an organization had no money, then suddenly started contracting to get work done. If there is no paper trail to a legitimate source of the funds, such as a loan. transfer from another church or agency, etc..., it will leave the appearance of impropriety, regardless of whether or not they can find a picture of someone putting the cash in Cecil's hands.
