Terrible news. Notre Dame has some explaining to do.

Eerie... He posted this on his twitter before practice:
quote:
Sullivan indicated via his Twitter account that he was in a dangerous predicament. According to a report from WTSB in South Bend, Sullivan posted the following tweet at 3:22 p.m. ET, just as practice was beginning: "Gusts of wind up to 60 mph. Well today will be fun at work. I guess I've lived long enough."

The kid posted tweets knowing he was in danger and did nothing about it. That part I just don't understand.

1. Horrible- ND pockets very deep, so this will be brushed under the rug soon.
2. I love her nipples!

No shite. It's fricking gusting to 60 mph you are voluntarily on a scissor lift 50 feet up? That is incredibly stupid from all parties involved including the victim. I am shocked.

When I first read this, my initial thought was, "I know Notre Dame is bad, but so bad that spectators are actually dying from watching them...?"

How stupid can Notre Dame be to allow that guy to be put up there? If he refuses does Kelly make him run sprints or something? Under those conditions, does practice really need to be taped for a 4-4 outfit.

Seriously. I find it rather hard to believe that they didn't have some sort of protocol for filming on towers in inclement weather. This is just common sense.

I'm sure the scissor lift they were using had some sort of safety protocol as well. There's no doubt that some sort of safety rules were broken. IMO, this = huge lawsuit.

Feel bad about the loss but someone needs to move this to the MSB.

It's easy to say "don't go up there", but that is an outstanding job at ND (and really anywhere, but especially at Notre Dame). I'm sure he trusted the person that told him to knew he would be safe, and that he wouldn't be harmed. It just is really unfortunate.

I think he's in the frat now.

No doubt. Someone obviously told him he would be okay. Those things do weigh A LOT.
