Just curious, I bought a stun gun-air tasor from a military friend for home & car protection. Do I need a permit for it?

I'm pretty sure you don't need a permit for those

People who participate in taking illegal drugs, ARE indirectly responsible for the gun violence that the drug trade has. The demand to supply their needs fuels the fire to produce the drugs, the sale and eventual violence that is inherent to the drug trade. That's not that hard to figure out. Illegal drugs are probably the single most and largest reason for gun violence in the U.S. than anything else or even all others combined.

The U.S. government is far more to blame than any person that recreationally smokes pot. If you don't believe that, then you are just refusing to believe what is true.

Doing an illegal act, to make it legal, does not help reduce the violence in it being provided.. lol

frick that. I am not going to not do something that I know has no negative affect on me or anyone around me just because the Gov't says so, especially if I know I can do it without getting caught.

Really? No violence involved at all? There couldn't be a turf war on where it's brought in? No chance that rival factions couldn't be waging violence against each other to provide that source to you? Your arguments have so many holes in them it's not even funny. Keep turning a blind eye.

I know the dude that owns the grow house, so yes, I know that ABSOLUTELY NO VIOLENCE is involved with me getting my green. Believe it or not, that is the truth.

It just seems unnecessary. I don't know you, you could be some crazy motherfricker with a happy trigger finger. I don't automatically assume that "oh, that's just a guy that is protecting himself and others" , I think "uhh, we are in a mall, and that motherfricker has a 9 on his hip. Is he crazy? Is he going to open up on everyone? I don't know." That is why it makes me uncomfortable.

Unless I'm mistaken, you cannot carry a gun in the mall. You can carry it out in the "open". I.E. when walking your dog, or mowing your grass, or in the park, or when you're fishing. I don't think you can walk into a private business toting a firearm. Much the same that you cant walk into a government building with one.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, thank you for being a citizen cop, but I am not going to know you if i see you in public, nor would I know what your intentions are.

I'm sure you wouldn't mind me having a gun if someone who was actually crazy opened up on everyone.

You are right, but that is completely beside that point. YOU ARE NOT A COP.

I didn't realize people were this sheltered and naive. I guess that's my discovery.

You are correct. Most places like malls prohibit firearms on their premises.

That's your opinion. What is fact is that it's illegal. What is fact is that most gun violence is the result of illegal drugs.

Well hell. Me carrying a bazooka will have no effect on me or anyone else around me if I never intend to use it except in self defense. I guess I should be allowed one of those now.

I'm sure you know the amount he grows, where else he ships or sells it and what circumstances there are that it is resold by other individuals then too. And you can guarantee that a second hand or even a third hand seller has never committed a violent act as a result of selling or using any of it.

How does that make me sheltered or naive? Like I said, no one I know carries their gun around with them casually, and I know plenty of people that love guns.

Who said anything about being a "citizen cop"? I carry a gun to protect myself and others when absolutely necessary. You wouldn't even know I was armed if you saw me IRL unless you tried to do me harm.

How is it the Bammers never get in trouble at school, then 95% of them seem to get arrested when they leave Tuscaloosa.

Probably because they're busy with practice and school.

Unlike Tennessee, where there's plenty of time for armed robberies, or gang beating police, or shop lifting at the mall.

Funky is dead on in his pot argument.

The government has indeed created any violence surrounding the weed trade, as they made a perfectly safe product an illegal substance. The same thing happened with alcohol in the Prohibition era, and pretty much created the organized crime infrastructure that we still have today.
People want their intoxicants, whether they be alcohol, cigarettes, or weed. Banning it just creates a market for someone to get it to them illegally, for much higher prices... the competition for those customer dollars creates the violence.
I don't see why we should allow the drug dealers to make the money and violence they do, for a damn perfectly safe plant that will grow in any ditch in America.

Ok.. going to your pot argument.. I could be walking in the mall and see this guy high as a kite, I might think, this guy doesn't have control of himself and could go nuts and hurt a kid soon. That makes me uncomfortable

There's more money in it being illegal. CIA, DEA, FBI, local enforcement.. imagine how much agencies would lose with the legality of it. As it is now, they can seize all assets, property money they consider to be drug money if you can't prove it otherwise... that's why it's illegal.

Sometimes you have to get absurd with an argument, to show how absurd the other side of the coin is.
