Christians are taught.....Do not take the Name of The Lord in Vain....

Of the million or more who set off for the land of milk and honey, how many actually made it? Two. How do you like your chances now? Parable of the seeds, you got a one in four chance. One taken, one remains: you got a 50-50 shot. There's your odds, take your pick, I just broke it down for you. So, looking back, Moses didn't even get into the land of milk and honey. Most likely, God is setting Chizik up cause he prolly ain't one of the two.

Maybe Saban is making him want to quit. Then he can blame God.

Dude looked like an idiot in that interview.
no he didnt his use of it as a recruiting tool is what really bothered me. Dont get me wrong he needs to express his beliefs as a Christian I am all for it. I liked Tebow for it but he used that inappropriately and that is what bothered me about it. God is not a recruiting tool.

And on the next day, He took Clemson and the points. And it was good.
No doubt that He hammers the Vegas line. I would hate being His bookie.

If it's a God thing and some things are out of your hand who's hand is it in? God, right? So that implies God had his hand it helping AU win. Your logic is flawed or Chizik meant exactly what he said which should cause you great concern about the mental stability of your coach. What happens when you lose? It's in God's hand so he wanted AU to lose?
So you are calling to question the mental stability of our coach because he believes in God and that God helps those that are faithful. Do I think he believes God was who caused us to win, no. But what would you call it? Luck? is that any less ridiculous if you actually think about it? Nobody here is claiming that God decided Auburn needed to win this game and Clemson didn't. Just because you have your own insecurities about religion, doesn't mean that you are any more mentally stable than somebody that has their beliefs.

Any time there is a competition with a winner and a loser, and you say that God wanted you to win, you are also implying that God wanted the other team to lose. There is no way around that.
Pray for God to keep everyone safe during the game and on the ride home, but when you declare yourself to be God's chosen team...that is just outright dirty in my mind.
I agree that it was nothing but a recruiting tool to get mothers watching at home to feel good about sending their son to a "Christian family" at Auburn.
Tony Franklin was dead right about the hypocritical "Christian values" that Auburn promotes. There is not a program outside of ND and BYU that uses religion more in their recruiting tactics.

Wins are divine province...losses are like 9/11. It happens.

They're founded on religion? Is Auburn trying to convert?

When God's name is used cynically it always seems to blow up in your face. Chizik is going to come out of the closet as a gay meth dealer.

Oh my! That's not a pretty thought!
I really don't think Chizik meant anything offensive. But I think he does need to use more discretion.
