Name a team that has won a national championship based on trick plays. Just one.

need to see the link or is this just a bad flame?

I forgot about Bama running reverses with Julio, flea flickers with Ingram, and even running halfback passes with Ingram in the Iron Bowl. But not surprising considering Saban is the biggest hypocritical whine-bag coach in the history of football.

name a trick play other than the flea flicker and the swinging gate.

ok. no-one has won a n.c. with just trick plays. however, no-one has ever just used trick plays. and, auburn doesn't use just trick plays.
so, your turn.

negative. that's very common.
can't consider it a "trick" now. maybe in the 70's.

I would love to argue with him on this one but this was my biggest gripes at times last year. In short yard situations, you need a package that can come in and just pound the ball at the defense and we just don't/didn't have that. If only we had a solid offensive line and a stud/powerful back who could....oh nevermind.
I think now that more pieces are in place on the offense we will start seeing less trickery and more straight forward plays.

On-side kick? Is that a gimmick?
Sounds like you answered your own question. I'll take Saban's opinion over yours since he has a little more experience than you. Look back at the AU/Bama game tell me the team that bases their offense on gimmicks or not. Oh, which team won.
