I know it is in vogue to pick Arkansas and USCe to have breakout seasons while trashing LSU and UGA but a look at the talent on every SEC roster tells a different story. Depth of talent is always a big factor in having a great season in the SEC and while some teams look good on paper because they have some good starters, they may not be very good 2-deep and suffer as players are rotated in or injured.

Going strictly by recruiting points over the last five years, this is how the SEC stacks up in recruited talent. I looked at 5 years because this should cover every player on every-one's roster.

Florida 13,415
LSU 11,884
Alabama 11,846
Georgia 10,286
Auburn 9,580
Tennessee 8,709
USCe 8,042
Ole Miss 7,293
Arkansas 5,725
Miss St 4,579
Kentucky 3,296
Vandy 1,362

How will that change in the next five years?

Auburn will climb, LSU will fall. Florida and Alabama at the top.

I know it wouldn't shift the rankings around too much, if at all, but I suppose these rankings don't include players that would eventually transfer or leave the team right?

Talk about overachieving. Second lowest in talent, and still only one of five to make it to bowl games for the last 4 years in a row.
