Former UGA quarterback Zach Mettenberger has a new team: the Butler Community College Grizzlies, a perennial power in junior-college football. Butler is located in El Dorado, Kansas.
The Wichita Eagle reports that Mettenberger is on the Butler roster and quotes coach Troy Morrell from Jayhawk Conference Media Day: “We did our research on Zach. We feel like he can be a great asset to our team, and it’s widely known that he paid the price for what he’s done and he’s trying to move on.”
Mettenberger was dismissed from the Georgia program in April, shortly before pleading guilty to two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery in Valdosta. He was sentenced to 12 months probation, 80 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine.
Butler is ranked No. 6 among the nation’s junior-college football teams in the preseason poll. The Grizzlies have won five JUCO national championships since 1998, including titles in 2007 and 2008. Butler starts practice Thursday and plays its season opener Aug. 26 at home against Navarro College.
Mettenberger, from Oconee County, was redshirted at Georgia as a freshman last season.

Did yall know that Daniel Cobb and Nate Hybl (Oklahoma) were both on UGA's QB roster at the same time?

I had forgot about Hybl, but I do know that the only reason we got Rudi Johnson was because of Cobb. Coaches went out to watch dipshit, and happened to notice Rudi.

Yes. They both left because of Quincy "Ice Water" Carter
Hybl's brother was an All American on the UGA Golf Team

Was it Cobb that lit us up in '99? I'm think the receiver's name was Ronnie Daniels, could be wrong on that. Was DC the QB? I've tried my hardest to forget that game ever happend but I can't. FWIW, Jason Campbell was on a recruiting visit to that game and dropped UGA because he overheard a racial slur from the crowd if the story I heard is correct.

In all fairness to Quincy, he was an absolute stud in '98. '99 he was alright, and 2000 he sucked. The players transferred because of Donnan, he basically promised Quincy he'd start and the other guys didn't have a chance. That freshman season though was something to behold. I've heard some stories through the grapevine about quincy during his partying days.

It was Ben Leard and Ronnie Daniels. Leard threw for over 400 yards if I remember correctly. We also kicked the shite out of LSU that year, which was awesome because my mom is a UGA alum and dad is a LSU alum. I got to talk a ton of shite, even though we were under .500

Our Genetics department is in the process of cloning the genes of Bert Jones, Herb Tyler, Rohan Davey and JR(arm strength only)
we should be able to speed up the development process by pumping him for of HGH and roids... pretty soon he will look like gatorsimz's avatar

I had heard that he was known on occasion to hit the slopes at the Holiday Inn downtown on Thursday or Friday night before games.
This. I also heard he "skied" all night, before the USCe game in 00. Which he threw 5 INTs in.

Hey there NorthGwinnettTiger, Daniel Cobb here. Perhaps we can get together to discuss a few things. I've seen what you've posted in the last couple weeks about me, and I'm not impressed. I see you call yourself an Auburn fan? Really? I'm anxious to hear back from you and make this meeting a reality. I live in Marietta, and work in Roswell. I'm happy to accomadate and drive over to North Gwineet to make this happen.
In the past, I've ignored this kind of thing, but the fact that my family still has to see this kind of hate has finally become intollerable.
Kindest Personal Regards-
Daniel Cobb
