I know it's not SEC related, but a lot of people saw him as a public enemy. But anyone here would have done anything to have the owner of their favorite pro sports team do whatever it took to put a good product on the field, even if it meant spending a crap load of money to do it. RIP

He was beloved in NY for many years after all that Billy Martin stuff 20 years ago. He did world of charity and helped make the Yankees the Alabama of pro Baseball (To bring in the SEC)

Like him or Hate him - the man was a genius in promoting his brand. you consider a vast majority of the payroll of the team was due to his marketing scheme and very little (in relative terms) out of pocket.
I hate the Yankees - but respect the man who made them what they are.

Even as a Red Sox fan, it's still sad cuz that man made my baseball life miserable, but at the same time, made it more memorable when the Sox beat the Yanks. RIP Boss
