Sucks for the fans of UT and the police officer who was knocked out. Hope the guys involved are punished.

Reading that twitter comment makes me think that this has been coming for a long time.
If I had to guess the cop probably comes there looking for trouble when he is off duty. I bet the cop was drunk and started running his cop mouth and someone that was tired of shite closed his mouth for him. This story may take a turn in a day or so.
The doctors need to get a blood alcohol level on the cop and I am sure they did.

Unfortunately I don't think that is an excuse that'll hold up in court 
Even if a cop is being a self righteous POS, you shut your mouth, cooperate, and go about your day. Unless he has instigated violent contact, these kids should've known better than to gang up on the person in the bar AND to beat up an officer of the law. No matter how you spin it, that cop is in the ICU and the kids arrested should seriously be sweating potential jail time
