his performance in Omaha is reminding me of Jared Mitchell's coming out party last year at the CWS, man is he clutch
I think SC can carry this momentum to beat Clemson twice
Go Cocks! SEC SEC SEC

Probably will lose him before his Sr. season due to the draft but he has given us one helluva 1st couple of years and hopefully will continue it next year.

Even if SC hasn't rung in the national titles in the "3 big sports" we sure do have some of the best single athletes. (Norwood, Downey, Bradley Jr.) Hopefully our baseball team can take the program to new heights.

yeah he's fun to watch... you can tell he just is so composed under pressure and has such a confident approach at the plate
man SC/Clemson with a trip to the title series on the line, I'm sure there's alot of excitement in the state, huh

For now, this is a pretty deep baseball state (5 teams to the NCAA tournament, behind only FL, TX, and CA who had 6) Not to mention despite their lack of real Omaha success SC and CU have battled many times while both are ranked in the top 5.
CU fans however rotate from being football/baseball fans to football/basketball fans depending on how they're doing vs SC. They'll change from "who cares about baasketball?" to "who cares about baseball" seasonly.

i'm sure the ante will be upped even further with all that's at stake this time around
this past decade, LSU/Tulane had a good baseball rivalry and alot of animosity between the 2 fanbases. We met in some super regionals and regionals, but never in Omaha and with a trip to the title series on the line, like SC/CU

Yeah Leggett has a winning record vs SC but after winning 10 of the last 15 Tanner now has a winning record vs CU. Its been one hell of a series, will be the 2nd time they meet in Omaha under those 2 coaches.

Some people missed the last couple of games.
This thread would be much better with a link to a YouTube clip imho.

No chance that Carolina beats Clemson twice, but Bradley, Jr. is one hell of a player. I watched him against Alabama and he made a couple of outstanding plays.

Just because Bama couldn't doesn't mean USCe can't

South Carolina is better than Alabama, that has nothing to do with it. Clemson rolled through Auburn, Alabama, Arizona State (something your team couldn't do), and Oklahoma. They've had the rest and I don't see SC being able to win two given the what they've had to use to get to this point.

Clemson caught a hot streak. I admit that. But this is baseball, and considering that SCAR is probably a much better team than Clemson, it seems silly to say that the Cocks have "no chance."
I'd say they have a hell of a lot better chance of beating Clemson twice over the next 2 games than Clemson had of even making the CWS when the playoffs started.

And this argument is just plain ridiculous. Clemson is 8-2 in the playoffs, while Carolina is 7-1 in the playoffs, having lost to OU by the lopsided score of 4-3.

Arkansas, not South Carolina

If I'm wrong, you can bump this thread and I'll admit to it. But when you put yourself in a hole, it's damn near impossible to dig out. Playing from behind after losing that first game is tough. Look at the SEC tournament. How often do you see a team lose that first game and make it out of the losers bracket? It can be done, but there will have to be a surprise pitcher emerge to throw a good 6-7 innings of quality ball.

You're already wrong.
Clemson played on the 21st and the 23rd, and Carolina played on the 22nd and 24th. BFD. Even without Cooper, Carolina has better pitching, and could easily win with Belcher on Friday and Dyson & Price on Saturday. Each one of those remaining 3 is probably as good as any single pitcher on Clemson's staff. Plus they have Jay Brown. This is not a marathon 6-team regional format. Not a lost cause by any means. I give the Cocks about a 1-in-3 shot at least.

If Carolina goes with any of their top pitchers, they won't have them for the championship series. Twice in a handful of days takes its tole...its what happened to us with Kilcrease. So yes, they might make it to the finals, but they'll have no shot if they go all out in order to beat Clemson.
