according to support, loyalty, and passion. I'd go with....

1. Florida
2. Tenn/Bama/Auburn
5. USCe
6. LSU
7. UGA
8. ARKY
9. State
10. OM

I didnt include vandy or kentucky since one is studying on saturday and the other recruits for basketball. No flame towards you UK, I know yall have more fans than us, but you arent a FB school

1-4 could be arrange in any order, just my opinion.

USCe seems to have lost that passion that it had a few years ago, but they could easily be put back into the mix for best fanbase.

On saturday night in a good game there arent any better fans in the world than LSU's, but against sub par teams, or day time games TS is not the special at all, especially in the 4th quarter.

OM has the worst fanbase in the football SEC. Made up of mostly old people who dont like to stand up and yell. Plus 50% of our student section is god awful. Worrying more about what theyre wearing and making an appearance for the FB game then the actually playing, then at halftime, head back to the grove because theyre out of drank and are tired of standing up.

You get this from the fans you know, going to the games, this board, etc?

Are you just talking about football? If so, I really don't see how in the world UGA is 7th. Or why we're not lumped in with about 4-6 other teams. Any reason? What makes, I'll use Auburn for instance, support, loyalty, and passion 5 spots better than UGA's?

Agreed. I'd put UF, AU, Bama, and UT at the top. Having witnessed gameday at each of those environments I didn't really notice a difference or a drop off in support or passion between any of those 4.

USC-e might even be able to jump Auburn. They support their team no matter what (from my experience). Auburn can't even sell-out their home games.

ETA: No flame intended.

I've lived in South Carolina and Arkansas and if you're going by those three categories I'd go with Arkansas. They're pretty committed fans. Kind of nutty but I guess that comes with it.

Well I've been to every stadium in the SEC and many of them several times. I also looked up the avg. attendances compared to the stadiums capacity. And also went by the fans of opposing teams that I know of or met. But didnt take anything from this board, since it is bias towards LSU and west teams

theres really not a big difference between 3-7. But all the teams above yall have a much better game day atmosphere is why I had them ahead of yall. And yes Im just talking about football

I think Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee and LSU make up a first tier. USCe, Arky, Florida and Georgia behind that.

there's not a huge difference between a lot of these places though. I mean Arkansas sports in general are huge in Arkansas, what else is there? No other college team, no pro team. But they have a pretty small stadium so it doesn't seem like they have as big a fanbase.

well out of all the stadiums i've been to that was the loudest and best overall feeling. Plus a UF fan can back me up on this, but I think they've sold out every game or maybe just season tickets for the past 20 years in a row. Not sure which one it is though. But like I said its just my opinion from the fans and gameday I"ve experienced. But 1-4 could be put in any order and maybe even 1-5

I am gonna go ahead and say It.

FL fans are fickle.

If they aren't winning they don't show or care too much... evidence of Baseball

Florida's stadium though is a part of the reason why its so loud, its just how it was built. Michigan has a huge fanbase and draws huge crowds but the way their stadium is set up its just not gonna be that loud.

eh, baseball just isnt big at UF right now. And if we went by the fan base that gives the best support with the least to support USCe wins hands down. And maybe thats a better thread, but fan support (even fickle) is still support when the team is winning. And UF has ruled the SEC for the past 20 years

My take on venues I've actually been to:

Tennessee - a little disappointed, attendance was there, but tailgating lacked and it did not get very loud

Florida - impressive but again tailgating lacked but it did get very loud

Ole Miss - surprisingly impressed with tailgating but not very loud at all and stadium in and around was high schoolish, but this was before the recent expansion and pre Eli Manning era

Georgia - great tailgating, great atmosphere, can get very loud as well between the hedges, just a notch below Auburn

Auburn - by far the most impressive atmosphere I've been too, tailgating was great, atmosphere was solid, stadium was very loud

LSU - biased, won't comment

Georgia Dome (bowl game) - atmosphere inside great, outside it sucked

Superdome New Orleans (bowl game) - atmosphere inside is not as good as GA Dome but outside is a little better but not great

thats one reason I dont have arky very high because there is nothing else in arkansas but arky football, therefore they should have a 90-100k following. And if they did they wouldnt have built that tron the way they did and would've bowled in the entire stadium and would have a 90k stadium right now

Agreed, when it comes to stadium noise, this is often overlooked.

The stadium is part of the reason, not to mention that the entire East stands and part of the North endzone is made up of students.

And to answer a previous question, we have sold out every game since 1979, only ND and Nebraska I believe have longer streaks.
