A new baseball stadium is coming after the BD expansion, Foster renovation, new football building/offices are done.
What are you hearing?
I've hear rumors of another expansion of the football complex and practice fields where the current track and field is at. They would move track and field to the North Campus, where soccer and softball is at. Near the REC Center. With the South Endzone and Foster nearly done, and basketball practice facility underway, a new baseball park has to be on the horizon, as you stated. My hope was that a new one would be built on the Bryce land, if it is bought from the state. A nice overlook of the Black Warrior River would be nice.

All signs seem to point to a new park being put on the Bryce property, but as far as Ive heard there arent any definites on that.

This is something along the lines of what many think the new Alabama ballpark would look like. At least in terms of location.

A beautiful ball park. Do you have any more pictures?

Baum wins this one boys.
Its a ballpark in the purist, classic sense of the word.
Plus it has more chairbacks and skyboxes than anybody by a mile. We don't do bleachers, unless the left field student section needs overflow seating.
But, SEC parks kill other parks by a mile, so its like arguing over who has the nicest Rolls-Royce.

If I remember correctly, Baum HAD some bleachers, but upgrades through the years added suites and chairbacks. College baseball stadiums become better as the years pass by. And didn't Ole Miss have bleachers down the right and left field lines before they were replaced by chairbacks? Hold on fellas....THE BOX just opened last year. Many many more upgrades will come.....come back about 5 - 10 years from now. By the way.....LSU is supposed to install a ribbon board in the outfield....one? two? not sure....but alot of the advertising will be done on the ribbon bloards.....lots more to come.....stay tuned. Baum and Carolina are great stadiums as is Ole Miss.....but Ole Miss can't top the top three...END OF STORY!

Why don't you go Google Swayze Field and Baum Stadium and look at pics of when they first opened or like 10 years ago. Then come back and you tell me what you think when you see those and you look at THE BOX now, in it's second year. The point is, both, Baum and OU Stadium looked like crap compared to what THE BOX looks like now. Once finished and there are ALOT of things to do yet, LSU will have the BEST BASEBALL STADIUM IN THE COUNTRY! Hell......its only two years old and it's in the top 3 already....THINK, BOYS, THINK!

You have been hitting the crack pipe a little too much tonight.

I love all the criticism about the ads at Alex Box. Ballparks have been doing this forever and I'm fine with the added revenue that those ads bring in to the LSU Athletic Dept.
And for the Reb fan who was talking about the bad scenery around the Box, check out the South Carolina ballpark. Nice park in the middle of a bunch of industrial warehouses and dirt parking lots.

Fair enough about the warehouses on one side. The "dirt parking lots" are fields. The picture was taken in the winter shortly after construction was complete, so one of the fields is torn up and the grass and trees are not green. The setting by the river is actually quite beautiful (except for the aforementioned warehouses).

ummmm. no. O-U stadium never had bleachers.......ever.

ok.....we'll re-rate them in 5-10 years when everyone is upgrading again. But we aren't rating future upgrades, we're rating them as how they sit right now.
And right now
1. Box
2. OU/Box/Carolina
And i would give Carolina's a clear cut edge at second if it weren't for that gigantic square of bleachers in outfield.

You have fricking bleachers and ad signs on your wall. Does LSU baseball really need the money from those?
You figs put up SEC west champion signs in that shite hole you call Oxford. We do have one big sign listing all 6 of our CWS titles, what's it called again....oh yeah, "the intimidator"
Suck it Ole Piss......we set the standard in SEC baseball and have for years -- we're the best
OM is the best at not knowing where Hot-lanta is and putting up signs of moral victories. figs.

We have a grand total of ZERO banners in our baseball stadium.
And I find it interesting that you mention ATL in a baseball thread. Why the hell would we try for Atlanta in baseball? It makes no sense.
But you keep beating off to that "Brag by Lamar Advertising" billboard. The rest of us could really care less.

Thats nice. Baum upgrades every single year, too. This year they replaced the old fencing around the perimeter with decorative metal fencing and brick posts.
We don't stand still, either.
Baum had a few bleachers way back, but hasn't for at least 5 seasons now, maybe longer.
We'll keep upgrading, and if the past is any indicator of the future, all of our upgrades will be top shelf.

no no no no.....no one is allowed to upgrade except for LSU. Every other ballpark must stay the same until they are done.
P.S....don't tell them we just doubled the size of our student berm.
