Since the Bammers are not offended by Gumps, I think a new nickname is needed.

Lower than Auburn is a terrible nickname though. It just doesn't flow very well.

It's a starting point. Any type of nickname that refers to them being lower than Auburn.
Kinda like they think we're upset by getting called the University of Auburn. It's funny.

just let it go... having to live in west alabama (or at least travel to it 6 or 7 times a year) is punishment enough.

Southeast Alabama is a barren wasteland. Auburn is a tiny town, and sadly is the biggest thing within a 50 mile radius.
