This. It was apparent to them when LSU killed them in the Sugar Bowl that they didn't want anything to do with top SEC teams.

The schedules for the last 3 years were already made when LSU beat ND in the Sugar Bowl. ND only has a finite number of games that are not on the schedule every year. Even though they are not in a conference, they still have teams that they play every year. Some are the Academy schools and now that looks a little ridiculous, but it's tradition. AND, ND was playing the Academy schools when they were the best. This along with the fact that virtually everyone wants to play ND means they can't satisfy everyone.

SEC doesn't need ND, but ND certainly doesn't need SEC either. They got mad ephen money that no school in the SEC can touch, so it's never about money for them.

Any SEC team would beat the living shite out of Notre Dame. Why would they want to play any of us?

If I'm not mistaken, each SEC team gets 13 mill per year whereas ND gets 9 mill per year for tv contracts.
