agree the only reason I would give Saban the nod other than my obvious personal bias is I think the state of Fla has such obvious recruiting benefits over any other state in the sec. 3 major univ in the state all get there share and several schools cherry pick and there is still talent to go around. How Fla sucked in football for as long as they did is a mystery because I dont think it will ever slow down again.

How's it that recruiting a state with 2 other elite schools easier than recruiting against 1 other? I don't think it's easier when most of the top talent has offers from the 3 major universities and some have been lifelong fans of one school or another. Plus, you totally dismiss Bama's tradition of excellence on the football field. You don't think adding Saban to a traditional powerhouse was going to make recruiting matters easier? Saban can cherry pick recruits nationally as well. Look at Ingram, and there are numerous others. I just think that argument in terms of recruiting advantage for Florida is not strong enough to determine a subject like this. Especially when Bama gets elite athletes as well, and it isn't as hard for them as you think.

not really. Florida's population grew tremendously in the 70s, that definitely had something to do with it.

Dude, anyone will tell you that recruiting at UF is about 10x easier than it is at any other school(besides USC). And as far as the other powerhouse schools in Fl(miami and FSU) they have been down this decade for the most part, so that has only made it that much easier for Urban.
