It's always felt a little forced to me. Thoughts?

It could eventually develop IF the series continues to be closely contested as it has in recent years or the game begins to have SEC West Champion implications.

Just another good game to me. The Boot is meaningless.

I've always thought a big part of what makes a great rivalry is geographic proximity. And with Fayetteville and Baton Rouge being 10 hours apart from each other, there's not enough LSU and arky fans that have to deal with each other on a daily basis.

I just don't see it. as an LSU fan I can tell you most of us consider our rivals thusly:

1) Old Miss
2) Alabama
3) Florida
4) Arky

*if we played Texas A&M again regularly it'd be a bigger rivalry than Arky

Its a testament to how far AU has fallen that you didn't put it on your list. I used to catch holy hell from LSU fans from 2000-2007.

I've never considered LSU a rivalry game. Until I lived in Alabama I didn't really consider the iron bowl a big deal either.

Why do we all still live in the past? General history has shown that new rivals form all the time

That would be the only chance and even then, I just don't see it being either teams biggest rival.

Most LSU fans will have a different top 4-5 but most would contain Auburn, Alabama, Florida and Ole Miss before Arkansas. Arkansas is still the new kid compared to UA and UM. Florida and Auburn are also relatively new but since we've had so many great games vs AU since the 90's and since Florida raped us through the 90's and in to the 2000's they jumped on the list. Arkansas is still more thought of as a big 8 school and will always have their biggest rivalry with Texas.

I don't think the piggies would take any offense at that Rohan.

IMO we don't have a rival.

I say lets just beat you senseless and sort out the pieces later.

Hasn't happened much the past few years though

100 years from now (if Nostradomus didn't curse us all), Arkansas will have been in the SEC for a LONG time. By that time, I'm sure you guys will hate us just as much as you hate OM, Bama, etc, etc.

But the fact that AR/LSU have been really close/good games the last few years bodes well for a rivalry forming.

Of late, LSU is one of the conf games I want the hogs to win most.

I think it has more to do with putting up with pricks like Rohan that bash the hogs at every chance though. Maybe the rivalry can be born on TD
