Do you think CNS can ever be happy?

Watching the BCSNC trophy presentation looked almost exactly like early 2004 - except for the colors of the clothes he had on. He had a half-smile expression and you could tell that he had something else on his mind already. He was probably already thinking about recruiting and the next practice.
The man is obviously a perfectionist and is obsessed with coaching football, but he never seems really 'happy' to me. He seemed pleased with the results and success of his team and program but not really happy.

And this is why he has been able to hoist the crystal ball at 2 schools.

Is happiness subjective or objective?

I think he is very happy. He just doesn't show it.

You know who was really happy? Miles after the 2 loss '07 NCG.

Who cares if he's happy? He's winning and that's all that matters.

He is kind of sad to me. there is no reason to have success if you can't enjoy it every now and then. He never looks happy.

Define "happy".
Happiness is subjective. It's being able to enjoy a moment in a way that is satisfying to you. I guess for him, he IS happy when he may not appear happy to others who would react differently to similar circumstances (like reaching the top of your profession for the second time).
The point of this was just to ask the question not to criticize CNS. He can be and do whatever the hell he pleases.
Unlike some, I'm over him leaving. We'll just enjoy our next victory over him a little more because to be the best you have to beat the best. We'll be in pretty good shape when we do beat his team - whenever that may be.

I agree. But he can be happy for at least 24 hours. Life is too short not to be.

He does not have "the want" to be happy

I think Saban has a Public and a private persona.
The team reports he cuts up and jokes with them and they with him. Remember He took the whole team to see the movie "Blind Side" before the Miss State game? He was in the movie. Most of team jeered and laughed when he was on the screen. He did'nt get all bent out of shape over that!
