I still don't buy the whole Boise State myth.

In 2002, Boise State finished 12-1 after winning the Humanitarian Bowl against Iowa State.

Their only loss? 41-14 to a mediocre Arkansas team.

They are playing those same teams every year still, and throwing in one AQ conference game.

frick them. They deserve nothing.

I would be very interested to see if they could go 12-0 or 11-1 with an SEC schedule. I don't see it happening though. They don't have enough quality depth to make it through the inevitable injuries to key players.

They can come to the Sugar Bowl next year.

They're probably convinced they can play against the top 10 programs in the nation now (not by ranking, but by consistency of being in the top 10).

Oregon's a good team, but severely inconsistent. They'll do great one game, and do terrible the next.

Had they not played us in 2002, they'd have been undefeated, and bitching that they deserved a shot at something. We went 9-5 and destroyed them.

Did either of the brothers interviewed in the pre-game look anything remotely close to SEC caliber players? Hellz no.

I think I saw somewhere that they have played only 5 BCS teams. Or something like that.

It does suck because they're OK, but I truly believe that TCU is the better team. They just weren't tonight and now we have to listen to all the Boise BS about how great they think they are.

Petersen has been at Boise for four seasons now, and has onlt faced six ranked teams in that span. Alabama faced five this season alone.

Totally relevant.

You still play those glorified D1-AA teams EVERY WEEK.

Boise State is 0'fer the SEC, and has been drilled every time they played any SEC team.

Join a real conference if you want real respect. Don't just whine about wanting to schedule ONE BCS AQ team per year.

Useless knowledge:

Arkansas has faced more Top 25 teams the last 7 years than any team in America (33 is the number, or maybe 43. Frick, I can't remember. Either way, print up some t-shirts).

The MWC only has 9 teams.

If Utah, and BYU and TCU and Boise aren't just blowing smoke, they need to work out a way for Boise to join the MWC. Throw in Fresno State and maybe UTEP and you have a 12 team conference. Play a Championship Game, and then I have no problem with them being an AQ conference.

If Oren Hatch will lobby congress about this shite, why can't he lobby the "power structure" of these two shitty conferences and their respective universities?

Get that done, and come talk to the rest of the country about what you think you deserve.

From what I remember about the Fiesta Bowl Oklahoma pretty much dominated that game stat wise, they just had some late turnovers and couldn't shut the door on them.

Last night Boise State got dominated on the lines by TCU, but because of their record and they return everyone they are projected as a top 5 team next year possibly even #2 in the country.

McShay made the point Boise State had one Senior that would probably get drafted into the NFL and imagine what they could do with elite talent. Well I would ask without elite talent why do they think they are a top 10 program? LSU should go join the MAC or MWC and rattle off 60 straight wins to prove a point.
