University of Alabama junior cornerback Kareem Jackson has filed an application with the National Football League Draft Advisory Board, which provides college underclassmen with information on their draft status to help them decide whether or not to forgo their college eligibility early.
"I sent it in a couple of days ago. I guess I'll just wait until it comes back and see what it says. I'm not really putting a whole lot of emphasis on it right now. I'm just focused on getting ready for this game, and that's about it," Jackson said.

No surprise here. It'll be interesting to see how this works out.

Kirkpatrick and Milliner will be the next great Bama CB duo.

If all he's focused on is the ncg, then why not wait till after the game?

I would like to take this opportunity to say goodbye

He's gone...
Naw. He won't hear what he wants to hear from the NFL, and he'll be back to improve his draft stock.

His draft stock is high as it will ever be, plus the uncapped year is only a sure thing for 2010, no guarantees it extends to 2012...

That's a good point.

I don't know about that. He's projected as a 2nd to 3rd rounder. He could be higher next year, you never know.

Great athlete. Very raw. Not sure he'll be on the field by the time Kirkpatrick is gone though..

I don't think he leaves. The only reason he would, IMO, is if he feels threatened by any competition for the CB position next year, like Coffee last year. Since he has the most experience of any DB returning, I think that isn't the case.

I don't think it can get much higher, he'd be smart considering he had his best season at the Capstone this year and can potential get a boost from winning a NC(mostly publicity).
Plus, from someone who plays his position at Bama, he mentioned everyone next year except Kareem when talking about next year's secondary(which he expects to start in).

Has some work to do if he wants to be a corner for Saban, I.E. man and bump n run coverages...

We are SCREWED if Jackson leaves after this year. Saban's blitz packages are predicated on the corners being left on an island. Dre should be able to hold down one spot but there's a bunch of question marks after him. Phelon Jones couldn't cut it at LSU. B.J. Scott is a converted WR. Milliner's only a true freshman. Seven seniors will be gone from the defense and Ro's likely to declare. USC had to go through a similar situation this year and we all saw how much they struggled. It just doesn't bode well for next year.
