Gerhart had 285 more yards than Ingram on 90 more carries.

Ingram: 6.46 yards per carry against teams that allow an average of 4.1 per carry

Gerhart: 5.58 yards per carry against teams that allow an average of 4.28 per carry

Receiving:
Ingram 322yds receiving, for 3 tds.
Gerhart 149yds receiving, for 0 tds.

Also Ingram did not play but 18 plays in the 2nd and 3rd games of the year which is easily 2 of Bama's easiest games.. Add 25 carries which is what he might have had if he had played in both those game as he did the others and times that by 6.4 and he should have had another 160 yards.. So they are pretty close but Ingram is more dominate against better defenses and with less carries..

Not to mention all the yards Ingram has after contact.

That's really not the whole picture. If Gerhart plays for Texas instead of Stanford he wins imo. Not enough hype at the beginning of the season for your team usually = no true shot at the Heisman. In no way saying Ingram isn't deserving of a shot btw.

WTF does these recent(since2000) HT winners have in common?

quote:

2008 Sam Bradford Oklahoma 2007 Tim Tebow Florida 2006 Troy Smith Ohio State 2005 Reggie Bush USC 2004 Matt Leinart USC 2003 Jason White Oklahoma 2002 Carson Palmer USC 2001 Eric Crouch Nebraska 2000 Chris Weinke Florida State Complete list of all Heisman winners

Their teams went to a BCS game! Most, went to the title game.
It's not about how well you preform in losing efforts.
If Ingram doesn't win, they will give it to McCoy.

Gerhart played behind an inferior line. Deserves all the accolades given.
