Used that interview yesterday SO wisely imo. He stressed to analysts, "I don't see why you guys have to set up a mismatch scenario." "You are setting our players up, trying to make them believe it won't be a competitive, hard-fought game." Maybe not verbatim but from what I can recall.
In short, he used the opportunity to speak to his players and fan base AND sold his premise by acting like he was telling the analysts how wrong they were (They may or may not have been) so that undertone won't take roots and the players won't hear that it will be a cakewalk 24-7.

That's what he has always done. He talks to his players through the media. He knows his players will be watching ESPN. What's new?

Saban is building an SEC Empire in Alabama. Gotta love it...

To Saban and his SEC Empire:

I think that is going to backfire on Saban. The Media is going to do just what Saban asked them not to do. Texas will go into the game sky high. Should be a great game.

Saban's smart in doing what he did last night. There is NO WAY our team will take Texas lightly and there is NO WAY our team will not be prepared for this game.
Plus, his interview probably will cause the national media to back off him and the team for a while...which is exactly how he prefers it anyway.
And I bet he doesn't invite Herbie to his office anytime soon to show his Dancing with the Stars audition tape.

Seemed like a paranoid midget to me.

That's great buddy.
I understand what he was trying to do- and he's good at it.
But he would have come off better just being a bit more human- no freaking out about the David-Goliath talk or Ingram for Heisman talk.
The Texas underdog talk will go on for 30 days, and it kills Nick that he can't control it.
I was glad Herbie called him out on it.

So is he going to be on the next Dancing with the Stars?

Maybe- but Herbie is correct- the talk will resume whether Saban wants it to or not.
