Well for competition in the conference yes. There is no way to be sure who is better because the sec never plays the pac 10 in bowls. Plus the bowls the pac 10 plays in are mostly favored for the pac 10 teams to win.

To me you can't say the Pac-10 is better when most of the time our conference champ. game is a playoff game for the National Title.

The sec is top heavy where the pac 10 teams are mostly equal with each other this year.

To be fair, many SEC fans use the same excuse of "beating the hell out of each other". In my mind, it all shakes out at the end of the year in terms of where everyone finishes.

When Bama whens that National Title this year, that will be 3 different SEC National Champions in a row, 4 SEC National Champions in a row, 5 SEC National Champions in the last 7 years, and 6 SEC National Champions from 4 different teams since the BCS' inception in 98.

Just another reason why USC and their fans suck. As soon as they have a down year, their conference is better than the SEC....AGAIN!!

Overrated how? #1 with a close second as opposed to #1 without a close second?

Well, they did play pretty damn well. Two of their OOC losses came at the hands of the Big East Champ and Boise State (two undefeated teams).

Pac-10 doesn't have a Bama/UF team, but I'd take their top 5 over the SEC's next 5 behind UF/Bama.

so how is that even fair? the top 5 of one conference vs 3-7 of another conference....wtf?

Looking at the top 5 of each conference, I'd say the SEC would be favored in 3, coin flip in another (Ole Miss vs Stanford), and Pac 10 in the last.

Bama vs Oregon
UF vs Arizona
LSU vs Oregon St
Ole Miss vs Stanford
Tennessee vs USC

If you go by that, Pac-10 could win 3 out 5. UF and Bama are the only wins.

If you actually think LSU definitely beats Oregon State, you're sorely mistaken.

SEC is still the top conference, but its way down from its normal dominance. That's pretty easy to see if you paid attention all season.

SEC has as many teams going to bowls this year that are in the PAC 10.

Ridiculous statement. UK, Miss St and Vandy smoke Wazzu every day of the week.

10 bowl teams is not a down year. especially with two teams undefeated in reg season.

I didn't realize we are comparing the worst teams. But seeing as they play 9 conference games, let's just count Wazzu as our Tulane game. Make you feel better?

SEC is probably better. No one is denying that. It's just not that much better in reality and this is a down year for the SEC outside of the top 2. Even UF and Bama aren't as good as last year's UF team.

It's just a bunch of average to mediocre to teams outside of Bama and UF. Same as the Pac 10
