So Saban "got revenge" on Spurrier because he had more talent and was playing @ home?
Also it mentions how Spurrier beat Saban twice in 2000 and 2001. Thus he is still 1-2 vs Spurrier = revenge not gotten.

Nope, being near twelve while working on a test and a research paper will do that. That and the giant clutter of nonsensical posts the 'Bama fans (new and old) post on here I just start to assume they're all the same.

I wonder what Meyer's record is when playing a team they beat the previous year? I bet it's pretty damn good, considering they've lost one game the last two years and seven games total over the last four years.

Since we're just throwing stuff out there in anticipation of the game this Saturday, I have one.
The Gators under Urban Meyer have not gone an entire season without losing to at least one team from the SEC West. I guess he's due, right?

Well Meyer has also never lost a SEC Champ game...so he'll keep that streak alive. See we can play that game too

If you read the article, the only thing mentioned about Spurrier is...
Thus saying that Spurrier and Florida was the one of 13 that Saban didn't comeback and win against.
Audiosuck's comments (especially before he edited it) took what the article said completely the wrong way. Stating the article was about Saban's revenge comeback against Spurrier.
The article clearly states that Spurrier and Florida was the one that Saban wasn't successful at coming back against.
Dude can't read, or if he can he just zoned in on the spurrier part since he is a Cock fan and didn't pay attention to the context.

The one and only so far: A former Bull Gator, Steve Spurrier.
Spurrier and Florida were superior to Saban and LSU in 2000 and 2001, Saban's first two years in the conference.

Besides, what I found interesting in the article was this part.
quote:
Friends and former colleagues have no doubt that Saban has spent more than a few waking moments since Dec. 6, 2008, trying to figure out a better way to skin a Gator.
Listen to former Saban assistant Lance Thompson, who left after last year for Tennessee.
``If you could send somebody cloak-and-dagger to go to Nick's lake house up on (Lake) Burton, I assure you that you will find some DVD's or some computers with some Florida offensive video,'' Thompson said.
``That's the way the guy is. In everything we did, the next day, he would say, `OK, guys. What do we need to do to make it better?'
``I guarantee you he watched Florida tape last summer. I guarantee you.
``Losing eats at him. He's not gonna rest until he finds a way to win.''
Take that visit Saban got last July in Tuscaloosa from Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops. They've known each other since Saban recruited in the 1970s at Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown, Ohio, where Stoops' father coached his sons. Does anyone believe that, on their visit, Saban and Stoops didn't talk about ways to attack the Florida offense? The Gators may have beaten the Sooners 24-14 in the BCS Championship Game, but Stoops' defense held the Florida offense to its lowest point total of the season.
``We just got together and talked a little bit of ball,'' Saban said Monday. ``Nothing specific. We are both defensive guys. We enjoy talking defensive football.
``Will Muschamp is my good friend, too, and we usually get together at the lake once a summer, but we don't just talk about golf and the weather.
``We sort of gravitate to talking about ball some of the time.'' Muschamp, of course, is the Texas defensive coordinator.

I wished Saban would have got more revenge on Tubberville while he was at LSU. We were 2-3 while Saban was our HC. 04 still makes me mad. We were 2-3 against UF too. And only 3-2 against RKansas. Pretty sure we were 0-1 against UAB but in all fairness we got no shot at revenge.
These numbers dont jive with 31-1... why not?

Because you wouldn't count every loss in the loss column for revenge games. He lost to Auburn in 2000, and beat them in 2001 as a "revenge" game. He lost in 2002, and beat Auburn in 2003 as a "revenge" game. He lost in 2004, but wasn't there in 2005 to have a "revenge" game. The same goes for the Arkansas series, while Saban was at LSU. He lost to the Hogs in 2000, and won in 2001 in a "revenge" game. He lost in 2002, and won in 2003 as a "revenge" game. The Florida series brought a loss in 2000 and 2001, so the "revenge" didn't come that that time. He got it in 2002 winning 36-7. He lost in 2003, and got his "revenge" in The Swamp in 2004. As for UAB, he never got the chance for a "revenge" game, as you said.
So, the numbers do "jive". His one loss in a "revenge" game came in 2001 to Florida, in Steve Spurrier's last season in Gainesville.
