I don't know why I want to stir the pot a bit, I guess to see some of you squirm that are so mad about JJ's charges being dropped.
Would it bother you to know that the man that owns Pilot Corp played on the Vols football team in the 50's? And is the single largest donor to the university having a recent building named after him. And his son is the mayor of Knoxville

Just a matter of time before that little thugalicious is back in trouble.

I personally am not squirming, no matter how unfair it is. If they choose to drop charges and Kiffin is light on disclipline it will take a toll on your program in the long run.

Pilot Corp was not a party to the crime, other than owning the location where the crime took place. The store wasn't robbed. Pilot will have no role in the legal proceedings other than making their employee available to testify and their surveillance footage available to be used as evidence, two things that they have no choice but to do.
I don't see why this is important enough to point out.

I agree with the decision, and on Kiffin's handling of it all....
And yes, I did know about the Pilot booster...

Just a thought... what if it's you (in general, not the person I reply to) that's in Janzen's shoes? What if he didn't do what he was originally going to be accused of doing?
And the authorities actually made the correct call, as did Kiffin?

I do the correct call was made. I guess I'm just feeling a little devious today and wouldn't mind seeing a little bitching and moaning.

the actual statements from the DA
""Nichols said in a press release that the decision "was made after an intensive investigation by the Knoxville Police Department, numerous interviews of persons with any relevant information on these charges and reviews of more than 10 hours of video and audio records related to the charges."
"The investigation and careful review of all relevant evidence failed to show ... Ms. Montmarquet or Mr. Jackson had prior knowledge that the attempted robbery was going to take place and were unaware something had occurred until after they pulled out of the Pilot store," according to the DA's statement.""
Hmmm, I thought for sure that the D.A. would have made reference to them working hand in hand with all posters on tigerdroppings.com and taking their astute knowledge and inside information into the inner working of the crime, into consideration before making this decision. I mean, there's so many people on here, who obviously KNOW the truth about it all.... * sigh *

This cat plotted a robbery of a fricking gas station with a pellet gun. Yeah, he as NO shot and future troubles.

was the gas station robbed? not sure what the owner of the station has to do with charges being dropped. Not sure why people wont call this what it was, a drug deal gone bad. Did JJ know a gun was going to be pulled, no. if so he never would have gone inside a building full of cameras. Did he know they were there to pick up some weed, yes.

not to be mean but the only thing that would have made the story better is if the store owner would have shot all 3--just sayin

bullshite...Anybody that lives in Knoxville will tell you if you are gonna buy drugs..You DON'T go down on the strip ...That place is CRAWLING with cops..Hell,these dummies could have went to any frat house and got all the weed they wanted..And how much DOPE did they find anyway?..This wasn't like a scene out of "SCARFACE" next thing you know...People will be telling they used a "CHAINSAW" instead of a pellet gun to get these guy's cheeseburger....
No..It is a simple case of a couple of DUMB arse THUGS that can't see past the end of their damn nose..You are just about a 1/4 mile from the DORM and you are gonna "PLAY GANGSTA"..
And IF the word I hear on Jackson is correct..he won't be in Knoxville for the season opener next year..."PAIN IN THE arse"..Has too many issues...Following rules and authority are #1...Kiffin better keep him on a short lease or he will be down at Jacksonville State with RP...

I especially like this quote by Kiffin:
As I've said before, we hold our student-athletes to an extremely high standard on and off the field, and Janzen has seen the effect personal decisions had on his former teammates and he is excited to rejoin our team activities.
I reckon when you're in the car with some pot smoking, armed robbers, you get a good look at the effects.
I'm just glad that Kiffin realized that Jackson was totally innocent and had no idea what that odor was, and has him back for that huge game against Kentucky this week.
