the ball was so badly underthrown it was uncatchable for the reciever who really should have been considered the defender in that case. the DB did indeed get his head around the ball hit his faceshield.

That was a bad call but did Petrino say anything to the ref? He seems like Shula on the sidelines.

It wasn't just that call. It was 2 other calls on that same drive that provided Florida with the needed tie score. It was bullshite.
You can say we should have made our fg. We should have. But the way our defense had dominated the line of scrimmage up until that point of the game, if we don't get completely fricked by the refs, we aren't even in a position where we need a FG.

yah i just reviewed it, i thought the ball hit the face shield but it did indeed sail by and hit the turf, it was the receiver grabbing at his face...
still an absolutely horrible call...the defender has a right to ball as well and he was in better position to catch the ball than the Florida player.

The ball was uncatchable only because the defender was blocking the receiver. The defender was not playing the ball, as he should have been, but was playing the receiver. The actual rule is IMPEDING THE RECEIVER FROM MAKING A PLAY ON THE BALL.
Was the receiver IMPEDED? Yes = Pass interference.

Both players have a right to the ball once it is in the air. However, your player was not trying to do shite with the BALL, he was blocking the receiver from making a play on the ball. In short, YO BOY WAS OUT OF POSITION!!
