Let me explain something to you people that love attempting to tear Bama down and Saban down.
Saban arrives at Alabama.
Saban gets a top 10 recruiting class.
Saban goes 7-6, wins an insignificant bowl game.
Saban gets a #1 recruiting class.
Saban goes 12-2, going to an SEC championship and a BCS bowl game. Losing both of our last two games but demolishing our biggest rival in Auburn.
Saban gets another top 3 recruiting class.
Saban is 4-0 right now, and we're #3 in the nation.
Soon enough, we will have been a top 5 ranked team for half of Saban's stay here. WE REALIZE it doesn't get any better than this... except for winning the big ones, which we've only had 1 real game we cared about (last year vs UF).
Now let me explain something. When people start threads like "Is Saban losing his recruiting edge," and others just like it.. all it does to me is show the ugly side of desperation or frustration or whatever you want to call it.. it is a clear hate for what Saban has been able to accomplish at Alabama in so little time.
Do y'all really think that Alabama fans REALLY believe Saban will keep getting the #1 recruiting class every year? Do y'all really think we didn't expect it to be SOMEWHAT of a battle? This is the SEC. This is college football. Bama fans aren't delusional anymore... if anything, about our current set-up, we're supremely focused on reality because it's so tasty for us. Eventually, Saban won't be our head coach... eventually Alabama and Florida won't be the uber powerhouses like they are right now... and the ebb and flow of other SEC schools will peak.
Do y'all REALLY think Alabama fans believe that it's NOT going to be a fight every year? Do y'all really think we don't see how recruiting is gonna change because of our depth? Do y'all REALLY think we care about Les Miles' failure?
Let me get a show of hands for all of you NON-Bama fans who think we'd rather be in YOUR shoes than our own.
If you really think any significant number of Bama fans are insecure enough to worry over YOUR coaching situations or YOUR team, you'd be wrong. We're much more obsessed with our own team right now. And I could site you PLENTY of those examples too... but this OP has already gotten painfully long. Good thing is, the people that aren't obsessed with Alabama probably haven't gotten this far anyway.
Granted... there are always a few that let the fear of their opponents or losing power dominate their lives. Just know, Alabama fans are as united and secure as they've ever been in at least my lifetime.

Oh heavens no, did someone say something mean about God-almighty Alabama? You lost a fricking recruit, probably to a rival, get over it. You people are the cockiest mofo's when y'all are on top and the whiniest when things aren't going your way.

Saban should win multiple national titles at Bama, it should happen. Is Saban perfect - no, he will bring the talent and already has to Tuscaloosa. It's still college football. Look at USC - with the talent they've had they should have a lot more than two titles right now but upsets happen.
SEC has gotten a lot more competitive - LSU has facilities it didn't have pre Saban that will sustain the program even if Miles isn't the long term answer. Arkansas and Auburn are in good positions to compete year in and year out because both have offenses that will present challenges to any SEC team. I'm still not convinced MSU and Ole Miss can compete with the above mentioned teams in the West year in and year out. Sure Ole Miss and MSU will have years where they can be a thorn in the side.
On the East, Florida will always have talent and Meyer has proven that any system will work in Gainesville. Tennessee is upgrading their talen and as long as old Monte is around his defenses will be comparable to a root canal - amazed at the way he slowed down Fla. USC hasn't reached upper echelon status with two retread hall of fame coaches, they can be a player but need a young energetic diamond in the rough to recharge the program. Georgia's Richt will win a national title at UGA and I see similar longevity to what Bowden is at FSU since he doesn't seem to have any desire to leave. Who knows, maybe FSU goes cold on Jimbo and offers Richt the keys to ruling the roost in the ACC maybe an easier road to national title in that conference. Vandy and UK will always be also rans.
