Florida's offensive approach now?

I've been doing a little research on some boards about the Tebow situation and I have of course seen the rumors that he will not return and that it is serious and blah blah blah...but lets think on this a bit.
The good news for the Gators is that they are off this week. The bad news is that they have LSU when they come back. Will 2 weeks be enough for Tebow? Will the Gators have to tweak their offensive approach now?
I saw that a neurologist interviewed on CNN this morning said that it would be very dangerous for Tim Tebow to return to football within 3 months of the injury, if the concussion is (serious) as reported last night...went on to say that another hard blow to the head too soon could belife threatening. I wouldn't think that it would be worth the chance ofcoming back this season. Hopefully, he will recover in time and stillgo on to have a great NFL career.
Florida is a strong team when Tebow is a threat to run. If he needs a yard or 2, he's going to get it. He also creates matchup problems as everyone knows. Tebow being able to run is obviously the most important piece of the Gator's offensive gameplan. If he does come back, this should hurt because I would think that Urban would take into consideration his health and try to prevent many more knocks to the head.
How worried are the Gator fans right now?

They wont change the approach. If anything they may become more diverse.

Gator fans are worried, but you will see with Brantley what Urban ran at Utah with Alex Smith and in 06 with Chris Leak.

Yeah but is he ready for hard nosed SEC defenses yet?

supposed to be really good.

Does Brantley have wheels or is he pretty much just a drop back passer?

I would be surprised if Tebow was not playing based on what I have heard, but given a week to prepare Brantley, he would be more than capable of stepping in for UF. He is very sharp, and actually runs the option pretty well which has been lethal for UF this year.

Only time will tell. I heard Tebow has a mild concussion. Who knows....it's being kept really close to vest here.

so are you saying that tebow will probably play?

That's what makes me think it's more serious than everyone is making it out to be.

LSU or UF fans won't know if Tebow will be playing until Oct 10th. Seriously...

I think the best thing to do right now is just pray that Tebow is ok. I would hate to see him not return to the starting lineup. I haven't heard these rumors of the injury being serious, is there any truth to it?

You dont spend the night in ICU on observation with a mild concussion. I truly hope the kid is ok, however spending the night in ICU is a grim sign for his year.

It was precautionary...
Brantley has some wheels(not like Tebow, of course) he is kinda like a Colt McCoy. I think JB starts vs LSU, but who knows.

It would be terrible if the coaches let him come back too soon and he got injured again in the LSU game.
I know that Tebow will want to play and push it...but I hope the doctors/coaches to their job and hold him out if they dont think he's ready.
Could be very very dangerous detrimental to his career to come back too early.

+1 to that, for sure. hate to see a kid on any team get hurt.....

He's a drop-back passer who can scramble. He's not going to be a true running threat. Hopefully we'll be relying on Moody for that next year.
Personally I'm looking forward to having a pure passer as a QB again. Tebow is great, but it's really fun being able to watch a drop-back passer pick defenses apart.

Probably more Alex Smith. At least Gator fans should hope so. I always thought Leak was a hell of a QB, but a bit of a fish out of water running that offense.

Tom is right aboutmore of a drop back passer, but he has some wheels when needed. He is a better runner than Chris Leak.
