Lets face facts, most of our fans up to this point have been loud, arrogant, and cocky and thought that with our cupcake schedule and returning almost all our starters that we were going to go to Atlanta for sure. Something tells me this might have leaked onto the team as well.

This loss is exactly what we needed. We needed to get our heads out of our asses and play even harder. I mean people are already calling us over rated as frick, and at this point I can agree, but what's the more embarrassing loss: Us losing to a South Carolina team that had a 3 point spread and nearly beat Georgia, or Florida losing to a 2-2 Ole Miss team that had just managed to beat Memphis and Stanford, but lost to Vandy and Wake Forest? Both of us were #4 in the nation during that time, and I don't remember any assholes writing articles that Florida was the most overrated team in history to have been ranked #4, despite the loss being more humiliating at the time.

And last year, we did Florida a favor in the long run. We got them motivated to make sure they never lost another game this year. In fact the motivation we provided is now permanently implanted on the campus. Hopefully this loss to SC will do the same for us. We needed to get our heads out of our asses, and this game may very well motivate the team enough to not lose another game this season, or at least not as embarrassing of a loss.

If you cried when you wrote this, they will make it into a plaque and hang it on the stadium for you.

Sorry. They needed this win. This isn't basketball. Now, Ole Miss season isn't over and they can still win the West and SEC. But this was Ole Miss' first time in the limelight since the Nixon era. Lot of skeptics and Ole Miss failed to prove them wrong.

The speech is embedded on the campus. And Tebow is one hell of a motivator.

Snead should have cried after the game..

Man, Ole Miss may have a good team but they have maybe 60% the talent in reserve that the UFers had at the the same point.

Good luck

i'm at work, and i don't have time to read as much material all at once in the OP, but i felt the exact same way about the Utah loss fwiw. our team didn't take them seriously and was all "ho-hum... woe is me" after the UF loss last year... and we got spanked for it. we had a lot to learn and adjust to as a squad.

wins are nice, but it truly is how you respond to adversity that speaks to the quality of your team. how you respond to things like this are what define you. not the loss itself.

Lesson learned, I see.

And I wouldn't consider losing to USC "embarrassing" at all.

This has nothing to do with the ranking or media attention.

i disagree. i think the main problem is your coach sucks dick in his spare time and your qb is overrated.

plus you got manhandeled by south carolina...

SOUTH CAROLINA!

florida last year was a super talented team that just looked past ole miss. ole miss is an untalented team with a mediocre coach who has a passion for blowing the big games that was vastly overarted becasue they beat a texas tech team with ZERO to play for.

just some food for thought.
