Not trying to flame but why do so many people think Nick Saban is so much better coach than Les Miles. When you look at the stats they are very simular. Les Miles has averaged about 8 and a half wins a season throughout his coaching career, Nick Saban's record is basically the same. Nick Saban helped fix a broken Lsu program, and Les Miles did the same at Oklahoma State. Les Miles has a better bowl record over his career at 5-2, Nick Saban's is 4-6. Each has won a national title, but Les Miles didnt have to share his with USC. Each has won a SEC title, Nick Saban has 2 to Les's 1. This is not a flame, just want to know why so many people think of Les as a mediocore coach with Saban's great talent.

If I were an LSU fan I'd be more proud of the 2003 NC than the 2007 NC. I think most people believe this because Les Miles walked into a truckload of talent at LSU that virtually any coach in the country could have won with. Also, his replacement at Okie State has done a lot more than he ever did. There's also the fact that Les Miles is kind of an oddball, and he's made some pretty weird/stupid calls in games.

This is so stupid.

Of course LSU fans are going to prefer Miles and build an argument for him to be just as good as Saban. But if Miles loses 3 or 4 games this year, he will have the entire LSU fan base ready for change.

Persona has a lot to do with it. From a PR standpoint, Saban > Miles.

Miles and his goofy pressers, his hat, "Ar-kansas", "have a great day", etc... shite like that makes him look a jackass, even tho he isn't in actuality. Saban is Napoleon and dominates the press every time he steps in front of a camera.

The public opinion is altered as a result.

Yeah, I don't know why we keep obsessing over this.

I'll be a little bit different and say that Saban probably did a little bit more for LSU than Miles could have. I think Miles would have had success if he stepped in when Saban did, and who knows...he may have gotten many of the same players like JR and such. It's just that Miles focused on D and put together one of the best D's that the SEC (or the nation) had seen in a while. I think that led to the 2003 NCG. But, it's not like his offenses are anything spectacular. I love watching LSU's offense (not last year) but in other years, where we completely mix it up.

I think both are great coaches...but they each have their shortcomings (no pun intended for Nick). Les will have a good season this year. Our team will be formidable in every game, so I can't wait to hear the media and the bloggers give Miles some credit...he's earned it.

JR said Les was better at getting a team pumped up. Alot more of a players coach.

And Nick was better at X's and O's.

most of these rantards are short like $aboni and they think like he does and most have that have this alter personality disorder

therefore they exist in this way:
The one advantage of having dissociative identity disorder is that it is nearly impossible to be defeated in spirit combat. If an evil spirit or other force overcomes the primary personality’s Willpower, the next most powerful alter rises to continue spirit combat (using the alter’s Willpower rating). If the alter is overwhelmed, then the next most powerful alter takes over, using that alter’s Willpower. Thus, a character with dissociative identity disorder can be defeated in spiritual combat only if the primary personality and all available alters are defeated.

Victims of this dissociative identity disorder are susceptible to also acquiring the “self-harm complex” and “size distortion” mental illnesses.

fortuanately for LSU, Miles isn't a victim of this disorder...
