Jones chose Alabama over Oklahoma and North Carolina.

No surprise, he's a legacy. He's a perfect H-Back/Slot guy...

The fence Kiffin put up around Memphis must be a small, dainty picket fence. Lots of show, but no real substance.

He'll fit in nicely with Brad Smelley and Chris Underwood at H-back.

per scout, he doesn't have a UT offer....tifwiw

OU&UNC offer > Vols offer

Boom! Not that this was a shock, but 10RC and the Barn didn't get him or factor in, and that is saying something.

Is he ready to eat some steak?

it was in response to the "tennessee fence around memphis" comment... appears to be someone they didn't mind slippin' through.
seems like solid pickup... congrats

I don't know Auburn or Tennessee's situation at TE, but Harrison Jones is hardly chopped liver at TE. His other finalists were Oklahoma and North Carolina. He's going to a great player in the H-back role at Alabama.

But he is only a three star recruit and he looks like Opie Taylor. I thought Saban only went after 4 and 5 star recruits

with the other pos of need I dont understand taking him with Vogler already committed. Only 6 spots left and there are some bigger names with Bama competing, but I am no recruiting guru either.

So, he knows how to own a hoe without laying a hand on her.

The only TE we were going to take this year would have been Dickson, and he's going to LSU.
We turned down a legacy who's heading to vandy (name escapes me) who was a solid prospect and similar in rank to Harrison.
Getting Lutzenkirchen last year definitely took the emphasis off of the TE position for 2010. Shaun Kitchens and Jeremy Richardson are both candidates for Malzahn's slot-hback role.

I respond with actual evidence, and that is all you can type? Obviously Coach Saban doesn't. As nice as the stars are to look at next to a prospect's name, the offer list is more important.

This one has long been expected. We'll take five more. Alfy Hill, Keenan Allen, a OT, a LB, and another WR. The off chance we take six more, I would include Gabe King.

Which part of my post was not actual evidence? The part about him only being a 3 star recruit, or the part about him looking like Opie Taylor?

Well, I would rather take a three star TE with a nice offer list, than the prospects Auburn has put together. For all the noise about how great of a recruiting staff you were going to have, there have been less than stellar results. Regardless of where Harrison Jones falls on a recruit list, this will be another top three class for Alabama on NSD.
