State and So. Carolina get the top two spots, hands down. FWIW, (not SEC) but Clemson has the nastiest looking campus I've ever seen. Looks like Cleveland, smokestacks, warehouse looking buildings, factories, etc...

I've been to Cleveland once. The first thing I asked a guy who lives there was, "what is the suicide rate around here?" That by far was the most depressing looking city I have ever been to in my life.

Apparently not many people on here have actually been to the UT campus.

Tennessee's campus is hands down the ugliest campus in the SEC. There's not another campus even close to be that ugly.

Even Vol fans say this.

Nah. Philly is worse. Some of the worst weather in the US. Can be very cold, and seems to almost always be foggy due to the river. Rains a good bit in the fall through spring. Worst airport in the continental US because it is delayed by fog and/or rain all the time.

Only thing I liked about it was it had some nice hilly terain with trees and some older houses with character.

I lived in Knoxville for a couple of years recently. There are some areas on campus with older buildings that are not too bad, but in general, the campus is not what I would call pretty.

The guy who gave that review of Tennessee's campus admitted that he was a Michigan fan. Did you miss this part of the post?

As a Michigan fan, who took a lot of grief for that when I lived in Ohio, I'd have to say that i would rather look at scarlet and gray any day than Tennessee orange.)
You did nothing to prove that Tennessee fans think their campus is ugly

Philly is saved by being the cradle of America. Too much history and charm to be at the bottom of anybody's list.

Cleveland and Detroit have nothing going for them on the other hand.

Miss. State's campus is by far the worst I've ever seen. It looks like a housing project that hasn't been maintained.

When were you in Cleveland?
Granted, I don't get there much at all and haven't been in years, but just curious.

this is a very dumb statement and im assuming you have never been on states campus

They are an engineering/archietecture/agricultural school
and you can tell the second you walk on campus.
They put great pride into the "uniqueness" of many of their buildings and their landscaping is top notch as well.

they do have some old dorms but those are being renovated and they have recently built some very new nice dorms

I don't want to call a fellow SEC school ugly. May call them douchebags, retards, etc., but for some reason calling someone's school ugly just seems mean. So I will call a non-SEC school ugly...Georgia Tech. Pee-yoo! You can walk through campus and into the ghetto and not see a transition.

IMO, State's campus is the ugliest SEC campus I've been too... it reminds me of a military base.

Just because they're an argo/engineering school, doesn't mean the campus has to look good or bad... it just isn't my cup of tea, but to each his own.
