as well. Predict the depth of the Ole Missy bandwagon fans angst this year.

Its this year or none IMO. HDN can't recruit worth a damn, Orgerons recruits will be gone soon.

I say 6-6 this year, final.

I'll give you the typical answer from other schools on your thread:

LSU- Ole Miss ain't shite aint ever gonna be shite

Arky- Houston Nutt is a a-hole

Gumps- Ole Who?

MSU- I sure do miss Jackie

Rebels- What do the last 5 years have to do with this one?

Im giving them 8-4 due to their WEAK schedule. If there was RPI for football schedules, Ole Miss' nonconference would be towards the bottom of the list in the FBS.

What if Snead comes back next year?

Counting non-qualifiers, HDN's class last year was ranked higher than any of Coach Os, per Rivals and Scout.

As long as Houston Nutt is there Ole Miss will be descent. They might not ever be a world beater but they will never be terrible either.

With Nutt at the helm, anything less than 12 wins this season would be a shock to me. Until now, HDN hasn't been at a school worth a damn. He is finally at a place where he can flourish. The Walk of Champions has a new name . . . and his name is Houston Dale Nutt.

man, i've been hatin' on ole miss for over 50 years and as much as i would like to believe you i think that this is the best team i've ever seen them have. ole miss, LSU and bama will fight it out this year. could end up a 3 way tie in the west.

HDN is a great recruiter, if he wasn't he would not have won the SEC west twice in his tenure at various points with his own players. Arkansas is the 5th hardest place to recruit to in the west and sometimes MSU can put together better classes. Some years they put more in the NFL.

I think Nutt is a great coach and my money is on them winning at least 11 games. I got a grand on it.

Not going to happen.

Counting non-qualifiers,

Why would you count players that can't possibly help you win because they are NOT on your team. Aslo, some of those guys may go somewhere else after JC or prep school.

I'm not counting them. When I say counting non-qualifiers, I meant taking them off the list.

seriously wildrebel?? Ole Miss will be lucky to be .500 in SEC play. Hard games against Vandy who he always finds a way to lose to then South Carolina. I am not buying the hype they are Overrated....

I agree. With they hype comes a target on your back and Ole Miss plays 5 SEC teams with as much or more talent. Auburn, Bama, LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee all have more talent than ole miss if you look at the recruiting rankings over the last 4 years and Arkansas is right there with them.

One of the guys on the recruiting board did a ranking system based on total team talent using the Rivals ranking for the players and this is the result for team talent for the 2009 season...

Team.....Rating
Florida 163.32
LSU 157.86
Tenn 154.04
UGA 152.22
Auburn 150.66
Bama 147.12
USCe 143.14
Ole Miss 137.14
Ark 131.16
Miss St 122.54
Ken 108.08
Vandy 94.60

I think ole miss goes 8-4(4-4) and may get their 9th win in a bowl game it they get a favorable matchup. I have them losing to USCe, Arkansas, Tennessee and LSU.

Oh by the way, Ole Miss fans, you can save the: "how can we lose to __________." You lost to Vandy and Wake last year when you didn't have a target on your back so quit acting like your team can't be beat by anyone outside the top 10.

At what point do you throw those rankings out the window? We have 22 seniors, some play different positions, some have played much better than their high school grade, some worse, blah blah blah.

Rivals can't pick the outcome of a season - it's only validated by the top programs consistently winning while having high recruiting rankings.

If you think Auburn, South Carolina, and Tennessee are more talented than us right now you are a fricking tard.

If you think we'll go 6-6, you're a fricking moron. Our entire starting line-up will have to go out. And in case nyou haven't noticed, we had a fricking gorilla coaching us for 3 years and 2 of those years we didn't have near the talent that we have now.

No need to insult gorillas on this board.
