I just said I'll take 2 BCS titles and everyone else can worry about claiming who the greatest team of this decade is. I'm happy with our accomplishments.

I'd love to see UF and USC in the title game.

what do you want to prove about conferences? any smart CFB fan know the sec is the best. i dont get this conference thing. i worry about SC no one else. does florida winning make you happy, i would think bama winning is all that should matter to you.
Playoff takes a little bit of the luck out of getting there. I think LSU was lucky they got in with 2 losses last time. But they did and they proved they were the best team. A 1 loss USC team would have made a small play off numerous times over the years.
I guess I believe it's a better system than what we have. A playoff champion could turn around and say that we beat the best this year and no one could dispute it.
To answer your question that would make me happy.

Iowa is 2-1 against LSU/UF, as of late (if I recall correctly). Has Florida ever beaten Michigan or Michigan St? Strength of schedule, like all intangibles, is debatable. Take last year for example: USC played their Pac10 opponents & ND & Ohio State. They cornholed Ohio State btw. ND is laughable - I know. I do not hold it against USC, as it is an old tradition.
If I recall correctly, the last OOC game that Florida played against an OOC foe out of Florida was 1991 (thrashed by Syracuse). Now UF is too scared to schedule OOC games outside of the state of Florida? That is contemptible. You guys are even too scared to play your 2nd biggest in-state rival, Miami. Wicked-lame.
Greatness, in some regards, is not the same as success. I did not come up with the idea.

agreed. however lets say SC beat an SEC team, does that mean the pac 10 is better than the SEC, of course not, i just dont get this conference thing.

That's the point to a degree. I go to a lot of college games. I can see differences in overall size and speed. But games aren't won by those things entirely. It takes determination, leadership and preparation. Out of the top 8 teams the winner would possess all of these and have showed it over a 3 week period. IMO it would level the conference playing field. Meaning that the 3 game stretch the winner just concluded would be greater than any conference schedule.

Seems like every year the flavor of the day gets crowned as the best ever.

Im going to go with that 01 Miami team and the Nebraska team with Frazier that humiliated Spurrier as the two best teams in the last 20 years.

Why do people always try to anoint these teams with that tag? Remember the last time we heard that?

Why even play the season. Give UF the crystal now and we can all do something much more meaningful and go forth and change the world!!!!!!

Them or Nebraska '95
In 1988 at home, Notre Dame beat Miami, but I still think that Miami team was probably the best of the 80's.

that 95 Nebraska team killed everyone they played.

01 Miami or 95 Nebraska clearly
or one of those dominant Oklahoma teams that ran off 47 straight.
if Florida 09 runs the table..... MAYBE.
USC 04 deserves some mention too i suppose.
