Nutt is re-evaluating his recruiting techniques since he no longer can sign 37 a year like he did last year.

It was just like this last year.
Houston Nutt does his recruiting later, he likes to get kids on campus before they commit. He feels that we can get a better quality of player if we wait.
It worked last year, so I trust the staff.

Do you think Ole Miss had a great recruiting class last year? With the all the turmoil Auburn had last year, their recruiting class was just as good or better than Ole Miss' recruiting class

We closed better than almost any other school. We signed five 4Stars and 1 5star all on signing day. Considering the competition with the LSU and Bama Juggernauts finishing top 25 in the nation is very impressive for any team in the SEC West.

Nutt is known for signing underrated guys. So don't expect to see many 4/5 star players in the future for Ole Miss.

Another reason I was so impressed with this years class.

Recruiting is overrated. I didn't win all those SEC and BCS Bowl games by just falling off the text wagon you know. I'm waiting until we don't meet expectations and then I can point out that players can come in and play immediately, especially from the “Wild” formation. I just want players who love that helmet and come from good mommas and daddies.

You do know that the Rebels are going more and more to the Wild Rebel, the Super Wild Rebel, the Super-Special Wild Rebel and the Super Precious Wild Rebel, don’t you? That leaves me plenty of room to recruit several more RBs to run that Wild Offense. I can promise them all playing time.

With as many recruiters on your staff that you have masquerading as coaches, I would hope so.

there is an article addressing this in rivals mailbag today.

Basically what he is doing is anticipating a great year in which players could be/will be available later that aren't right now. Gameday(s) coming to campus, wins over Bama, lsu, auburn, TN, SC on thursday night primetime can do that for you. He's got alot of offers out and alot of kids are wanting to commit including several 4 stars from MS, and one 4star safetfy that wants to go there but he's not offering in anticipation he'll have better pickens during the year. But of course he's in a posistion to string alot of these kids along with "we're interested in you but want to watch you play this year"

I'm not sure why anyone would be excited about any commits right now. These kids flip flop so much every year, a commit in July doesn't mean a thing. Until you get a signature in February (and even then it can be suspect), there's no sense in patting yourself on the back.

LOL Choctaw,

in any Houston Nutt gesiticulatory soundbyte it is required you include 'heart', 'one heartbeat', 'bouncing around', 'precious', 'special' at least once....I can just hear him saying that.

What a load of Nutt horse shite. "National Championship Under Construction" Nutt circa 1998. What's going to happen when Ole Piss is relegated to the OutHouse shite Bowl when the Confederates finish 4th or 5th in the SEC West? That will be fun to watch.

The best humor always has an element or truth to it. That's what pisses the Confederates off so much.

I don't think they'll finish as low as 5th ever. Mississippi state will stay down there as will Arkansas for the new few years.

There will be some rebuilding in a year or 2 but he'll still have enough talent to beat those 2 programs.

One five star he went after and could not get Darius Winston. It was said on drive time that Nutty was so upset that he could not get that 5 star from Helena West Helena that he made up stories that he would be academically ineligible. Which was proven false. Nutt proven a Liar again and again.

that sounds like rumor and hearsay to me. Winston's teammate, Eric Smiley committed to Ole miss so it's not like he was burning bridges there.

also remember people from Ark are gonna get on talk shows and messsage boards and say just about anything about Nutt.

say anything about Nutt. Dude seriously are you really saying that all those reports were made up? I guess you would also say that he does not allow felons on his team and runs a clean program and invited this WildXXX formation all on his own?
